Mandy woke up with Alex's arms wrapped around her waist. She turned over and saw Alex awake and looking at her. "Hey." She says softly. "Morning." Alex says causing her to smile. It's been a few weeks since Mandy and Alex confessed to each other and they both treasured every moment they had with each other, who knew when it would be their last.
"Okay, we gotta get up." Mandy says as she sits up but Alex groaned and grabbed her waist. "No." Alex says, just as there was a knock at the door. "Come on guys." Gabrielle's voice says causing Alex to groan and stand up. Mandy smiles as she grabs a set of clothes and goes to his bathroom and gets changed. She comes out and puts her boots on. She kisses Alex's cheek and walks out of his room, towards the meeting table.
Once she was there, she made eye contact with Letty who sent a nod in her direction causing Mandy to return it. Letty had a feeling she knew this girl, although she didn't know where she knew her. Each day, they went over their plans which quickly became boring for Mandy. She had been on multiple jobs, and she got better at what she did. But today was different, they were going to be going through with phase one of their plan, and Mandy felt excited. They went through on what they were going to do, Mandy was going to ride with Alex, and she would serve as another defense in case something were to happen with Alex's car. Now it was time. Mandy had her gear on, and she had two guns, and a bag of ammo. She walked with Alex to their car, and she got into the passenger seat. It was time for the fun to begin.
They were officially screwed. They made a trail so the ones after them wouldn't follow, but it was quickly discovered which caused Owen's group to quickly speed away. "Now Mandy." Alex whispers causing her to nod. She rolls down the window and climbs out, loading her gun. "Shit what is she doing?" Roman questions as Mandy aims her gun at his car. Mandy fires a few shots causing Roman to swerve to avoid the bullets flying at him.
Mandy then turns to the other car, her eyes widening and almost dropping the gun when she makes eye contact with the familiar blue eyes of her brother. "Brian." She whispers. "Mandy." Brian says while he continues driving. Mandy climbs back into the car and looks at the coms. "Back to base, throw them off your tail." Owen says. "Got it." Alex replies as he starts speeding up.
"See, man, when a woman starts shooting at you, that's a clear sign to back the fuck off! We need to get the hell out of Dodge! That could have been my forehead, man." Rome complains as they sit back in their small base. "No. That's not as big as your forehead." Tej says causing Roman to glare at Tej. "I just still can't believe that's the little girl I knew all those years ago." Tej says. "That was Brian's sister?" Roman questions causing Tej to give a nod.
Mia... Uh, It's definitely Letty. But it's, uh... It's complicated. Letty's alive." Brian says into his phone. "That's all that matters. We have her back, Brian." Mia says. "But there's another thing." Brian says as he sighs. "Mandy, she's here too." Brian says causing Mia's eyes to widen from the other side of the line. "How?" Mia questions. "I don't know, but she isn't the same little girl from 12 years ago." Brian says. "Look. Well, do me a favor and give Jack a kiss goodnight for me." Brian says. "Be safe." Mia says. "I love you, Mia." Brian says before he hung up.
"Okay, listen up. That was a very different breed from Hobbs' usual wannabe warriors. We need to learn who these people are, what they're made of. Vegh?" Owen questions causing Mandy's eyes to widen as she looks over at Vegh who was holding some files. "O'Conner, Parker, Pearce, Toretto and the rest of the team. These guys are common criminals." Vegh says. "Tonight, these common criminals were seconds away from taking us down. Show them the respect they deserve, or it weakens us." Owen says. "You might want to see this." Jah says handing Owen a photo. "Ring any bells?" Owen questions putting the picture in front of Letty.
"Yeah. That's the guy I shot." Letty says as Mandy looks over and sees it's a photo of Letty sat on Dom's lap. "You look happy." Owen says, trying to provoke her. "I don't remember him." Letty says. "That's bullshit. We got a problem, guys. We got a picture of her with the guy who almost took you out." Klaus says. "Klaus, aren't you team muscle? Don't make me go over there and make you team pussy." Letty says causing Mandy to shake her head, a smirk on her face. "She doesn't remember him. Names and records aren't enough. I want personal information. Get into their lives, into their minds. Find their weaknesses, and we will exploit them. Mandy...a word." Owen says causing Mandy to give Gabrielle, Billie, and Alex a reassuring look.
As soon as everyone left Owen threw a photo in front of Mandy. It was an old photo of her and Brian, back when she was 6. "O'Connor huh?" Owen questions causing her to stare down at the photo. "Are you going to back out on us when this gets too hard?" Owen questions. Mandy didn't answer. "I need an answer!" Owen shouts as he slams his hands on the table. "No." Mandy says firmly, to answer his question. "Good." Owen says as he walks away, not bothering to take the photo. Mandy grabbed it and held it close. She then rushed back upstairs but she bumped into someone.
"Sorry." She mutters as she moves to wipe her eyes. "No worries kid." Letty says as she looks over and notices Mandy looking down. "You okay?" Letty questions causing her to nod. "Yeah, I'm fine." Mandy says as she looks up at Letty. Letty sighed and ran a hand through her hair. "Come on." Letty says as she leads Mandy to her room. They walked inside and that's where Mandy broke. Letty who didn't know what to do, or how to stop her from crying was at a loss.
"Oh." Letty says as she hugs the girl. That only made her cry more. She had to find out on her own that Letty didn't remember anything, so all the time they spent together was practically gone in Letty's mind. There was a knock at the door causing Letty to shout a come in, in order for the person to come in. Alex walked in immediately noticing Mandy crying. Alex raised a brow, but Letty just sent him a look telling him she didn't know why Mandy was crying.
Alex walked over and picked her up. "Come on Mands." He says as she looks up at him, her eyes puffy, and her cheeks bright red. She turned her head and saw Letty giving her a sad smile, the same one she would give her whenever she had a bad day at school and she went into the shop, the same look she gave her whenever she scraped her knee, and the same look she gave her when she told her about her nightmares. Mandy just returned the sad smile causing Letty's eyes to widen as Alex carried her away.
"Letty?" She hears in her head. "Yeah kiddo?" She hears her own voice say. "Can we go fix cars now?" The voice says. "When Dom gets back." She hears herself say again. "Why do we need a man's permission to do things? Oh, right we don't." The voice says, full of sass. "Because that man happens to have the keys to the garage." She says. "Oh. Right." The voice says.
"Letty!" The voice shouts. "Yes?" Letty questions. "I got an A on my math test!" The voice cheers. "I'm so proud of you chica." Letty says and after a few moments the voice spoke up again. "Letty. Can't. Breathe." She says causing Letty to laugh. "How about some celebratory slushies?" Letty questions. "Yes!" The voice cheers.
Letty opened her eyes, tears filling up her eyes. She had someone out there for her, someone waiting for her. Sure, it wasn't a daughter, but she knew that person was family.
