"Y/n why don't you give jojen a tour of the garden." Her grandmother said before she pulled all of the adults into the lavish house.

You lead jojen towards the gardens exchanging nothing more than a nod and a bow. The two of you walked side by side as you strode through the hedge labrynth. The presence of nothing but uncomfortable silence was killing you. You brushed out the nonexistent wrinkle on your stunning dress. For some reason you wanted to impress the person you loathed.

"We might as well make small talk." He broke the silence. His voice dripped with fake sincerity. He was stunning but so far not off to a good start.

"Why?" You bluntly questioned as you stopped to stare at a banana slug making its way toward a lavender bush.

"We are to be married, we must learn to speak to one another again." He insisted.

"Funny little creature, isn't it?" You said cocking your head to one side. He looked you up and down and admired your features. "They glow in the dark, did you know that? They leave a little glowing yellow trail behind them."

"We can't avoid the unavoidable situation we are thrown in. No matter how terrible it is."  He said again.

"Im not avoiding it im simply, making small talk." Venom dripped from your voice, he was being awfully condescending.

"No, I did not know that." He responded after a long break of silence. For about twenty more minutes you walked in silence, it was truly excruciating. Every once and a while a cough was heard but the sound of your shoes against the newly trimmed grass was the only thing to be heard. You had the sudden urge for some sort of closure.

"Why did you stop writing?" you asked bluntly, it was about time you had got some answers. "We knew we were to be married, and at one point I beleive we even fancied one another. So why on earth did you make this ever so hard." You asked. He stopped in his tracks.
