The goblins return to their old home in the termite hill. They have invited the children, the fairy, and the frog to join them for their celebration and to honor their bravery and good fortune. However, Bea and Danaya turned it down since night was coming soon. Bea had written a note that she and her brothers will return home by sundown and hopefully it wouldn't rain. Bea prayed silently to the god of rain Habagat to not let it rain in the land until they get back home safely with their parents and Lolo and Yaya Rosa. Two goblins volunteered to escort the band to their last destination. Passing the willow tree.
"There's no trick or spell?" Kaloy asked. "We just walk through?"
Danaya nodded. "Yup!"
"That's it? Nothing spectacular or unfortunate will happen to us?"
"You just go through the thick curtain of the willow leaves then you will see the bright and glowing mango light surrounding the forest of my home."
"Wow," Kaloy said. "That sounds boring."
Danaya glared back.
They entered into a big space of a meadow and found swarms of butterflies hovering over the meadow flowers. To the side stood the large willow tree. As they cross the meadow, they heard music.
Paru, paru, paru, paru, paru, paru, paru...
It was a rhythm, a beat.
"I think I hear singing," Bea said.
"Shh," Danaya said and smiled. "The butterflies are singing. You'll like it."
The two goblins motioned them to sit quietly on the grass and watch the butterflies singing.
"Paruparong bukid na lilipad-lipad
Sa gitna ng daan papaga-pagaspas
Isang bara ang tapis, isang dangkal ang manggas
Ang sayang de-kola, isang piyesa ang sayad," the butterflies sang in rhythm and in harmony.
"I know this song!" Bea said excitedly. "Remember Ali? Sez? Lolo would sometimes sings this song."
The boys remembered.
"May payneta pa siya (uy!)
May suklay pa man din (uy!)
Nagwas de-ohetes ang palalabasin
Haharap sa altar at mananalamin
At saka lalakad nang pakendeng-kendeng," As the butterflies sang the chorus, they twirled and they swayed with the wings fluttering in the breeze.
"May payneta pa siya (uy!)
May suklay pa man din (uy!)
Nagwas de-ohetes ang palalabasin
Haharap sa altar at mananalamin
At saka lalakad nang pakendeng-kendeng."
At the last stanza, Danaya joined in on a solo. Bea pulled Ali and Sez and swayed with the butterflies humming along the lyrics. The two goblins and Kaloy clapped cheerfully.
"Paruparong bukid na lilipad-lipad
Sa gitna ng daan papaga-pagaspas
Isang bara ang tapis, isang dangkal ang manggas
Ang sayang de-kola, isang piyesa ang sayad
May payneta pa siya (uy!)
May suklay pa man din (uy!)
Nagwas de-ohetes ang palalabasin
Haharap sa altar at mananalamin
At saka lalakad nang pakendeng-kendeng."
