"Wait, why are you still swimming with me? You barely know who I am," I say to Dylon who's still swimming next to me.

"Because I don't want you to get hurt, Mel. You don't want to end up like your two friends do you?"

That made me angry. We have none each other for five minutes and he's already calling me "Mel".

He just thought he could talk about the two closest friends I've had my entire life that just got killed by my long lost sister's blowfish guards? Does he think I'm stupid-?

He must've noticed my annoyed expression because he replies right after the question.

"Jeez, I'm sorry I didn't mean that. I know what you've been thr-,"

"No you don't! You have no idea where I'm from or what I'm even doing here in the stupid ocean. So, just stay away from me and let me defeat the Siren by myself!" I yell at him while crying again.

I begin sobbing right in front of him. God, this is embarrassing but I can't help it. I'm hurting. I mean I just lost the two closest people whom I haven't even known all my life.

"I'm sorry. I'll leave."

Dylon begins to swim away and I instantly want him to come back. Without being able to stop myself I blab out, "Don't go please."

"But you just asked me to leave."

"I know I know. I'm just mad. Truth is, I won't be able to survive out here all by myself."

He smiles and looks at me. Dylon grabs my hand and we swim to a crystal cave that sits right on top of the pink sands. I didn't even notice it was there the whole time. The thing just looked like it was a part of the rest of the sand.

The crystals are absolutely mesmerizing.

"It's beautiful in here."

"I know, it's one of the places I go to when I need some peace and quiet. The tunnel in the rock leads to somewhere very deep but I've never discovered it. Sometimes when you're quiet enough, you can hear beautiful songs," Dylon explains.

Beautiful songs? I wonder where they come from...

"Are we going to sleep here for the night and then head to the castle tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow?" he asks, sounding out the word slowly.

"You don't know what tomorrow is?"

"No. What is it?"

I giggle. People here really don't know what tomorrow is?

"It's like the start of a new day," I tried to explain with a smile.

"Hm, interesting. Then yes we are going to stay here for the night until tomorrow," Dylon says trying to use the word he just learned in a sentence.

Okay good. I'm beat because I haven't had any sleep for who knows how long.

"But you also need to explain everything you've gone through, Melody. From the very beginning."

I nod. He's right. I do have a bunch of explaining to do.

"Okay," I say.

Then I begin to tell him everything.
