Actually, I've been awake for hours I never really went to sleep. To many things to think about, to many things to worry over .Wouldn't want to tell her that though, she'll think I've lost my mind.
Mums more protective than ever now that dad's moved away for the 11th time in 16 years. Ever since the day I was born they would fight and dad would stay for a couple months then leave again. But with no real man in the house she feels as though we have nothing, but dad sends us money every now and then so it's not like we're dying but life could be a lot easier
"HURRY UP KAIN" Mum screeches
Rushing down stairs I realise we have a special assembly today at school, someone from dauntless and abnegation are talking to us about 'making good choices' or something.
I hate how they purposely choose teenagers. Teenagers with poor and factionless parents.
I mean it's not our fault. Everyone who goes to my school are considered the "seconds"
Our parents - who were from two different factions. Had a child, but the fathers could choose to either stay with his family or stay in his faction and not see his family at all. But the mother and child stay factionless even if the mother is already in a faction and the child must stay with the mother until the day the child turns 17 and gets to choose a new faction.
As for my Dad, he still doesn't know what to choose. He still can't decide if he loves the dauntless family more than his own family of a mother and 2 kids. He comes and goes, he thinks he can be a family person but then mum comes in and World War III is underway.
