Mad in Love

The crisp and foggy morning air,
on a still and safe mountain trail,
can only ever be half as entrancing
as the smoke that flows from your lips
in this quiet room full of haze.

Your blue green eyes hold onto mine,
like a trap that I fall into
Not only is it hard to pull myself out,
but I find myself seeking them,
Yearning for your sharp piercing gaze.

Anything for your attention,
I'd give it all for just a word
Everything about you enraptures and stills me
I would beg if you asked me to
All your thoughts are a poor man's alms.

That bright smile is everything,
The way you wiggle your eyebrows.
Your laugh is the charming wind chimes in my window.
The smell of you is comforting,
And I relax beneath your palms.

You don't taste sweet, rather salty,
Still a treat to me nonetheless.
It's an honor to be allowed to sense you.
To me you're intoxicating.
To me your presence is potent.

I am madly in love with you
They're feelings I've not had before.
This moment will exist as a time that I loved you.
Maybe tomorrow it will fade,
But for now it's mine, this moment.

Let it sweep me away, a tide,
Let me be lost in emotion.
If only for this brief moment I'll treasure it,
Every second is a lifetime
We've been friends since forever now.

And yet, I can never know you,
I will never break you apart
Instead I will just be contented to love you
Dream of you in a hazy room,
And find you here with me somehow.
