TW: RAPE
"Could I be wanted by someone...?" I had said that out loud, but I did not realize we were in the car. It was silence between that moment. I had been flustered by what I had just said. "I mean, it is a possibility." He said, sneering at me. He gave off that sly smirk, and I could not help but roll my eyes and look out the window. "So where are we going?" I said, irritated. He chuckled, "We are going to Idaho." He said, looking towards the road. I froze in place. I am going back... home.

We stopped at a nearby gas station to get some snacks and gas. "I am going to use the restroom. Don't go crazy without me." He smirked and walked away. I mumbled under my breath and turned back to the gas pump. I sat there while the gas was pumping and heard a buzzing from my phone. It was the Chief. I braced myself for the upcoming talk with him. "Hello, stiff." His voice boomed through the phone. "Hello, chief. What do you want?" I said, rubbing my head. I was stressed because I would have to see my family after... well, leaving high school. "Someone is a little nervous about going to jail, but don't worry, kid. They may want you because you a prick and hard to get. That isn't why I called. I called to tell you that I told your mom that you will be in town." He said, laughing. I hung up the phone, grabbed the pump, and returned it. All I could think about was why he would do that in the first place... Derek came out with a bunch of snacks in his hands and threw them in the back of the car. "Alright, let's go." He said.

We sat in the car, and all I could think about was jumping on the driver's side and turning the car into a ditch. I could not bear the thought of having to see my mother. After seeing her for about 2 years, the problem with "him." I cannot bear the thought of stepping into that house of hell. Why would that bastard chief tell my mother I would be in town without telling me! I tried to grab hold of myself and regain my composure before we rode into the city. My hometown was gloomy and filled with darkness that was not there before I left, so I was left distraught. "Maybe this was a sign that I should not have come home," muttering. Derek looked over at me and gave me that dirty smirk that I hate. "Guess this is a nice reunion for you, huh?" He laughed, then his laugh halted before he noticed my facial expression. I gave the most cold-blooded stare that could have possibly pinned me as a murderer. "Yeah... home sweet home..." I rolled my eyes and slumped back down into my chair.
~
We made it to my house as we pulled into the driveway. My mom had been waiting outside with her 'thing.' "My son! You are finally back to visit!" She exclaimed as she embraced me for a hug. "Hello, Mother. Nice to see you in good condition after dealing with... never mind." I said before I caught myself. I never had a good relationship with whatever you wanted to call him. He was her boyfriend and then husband and then back to boyfriend again. It was all a confusing process. "Ello boy, nice to see you to ass." He sneered at me. We had a stare-down before Derek broke the silence. "Good evening, Ms. Miller and her significant other. I am Jones, Derek Jones. I am Ash's partner for the investigation." He said with a genuinely friendly smile on his face. I could not believe what I had just seen. Did he actually just smile and turn out to be polite? Well, I guess you learn something new every day. My mother's boyfriend rolled his eyes and walked back inside, and my mother followed promptly, letting us in after.
~
I looked around the house in anguish. I could bear to see this house again after I had left high school. There was nothing here in this town that I wanted; if my mother had been gone, I would have let the witch kill everyone here. I went towards my room before I came to a halt. "Oh, Jordan renovated the room once you left and turned it into a gym room." My mother said. I sneered at her response and turned toward Jordan. "Did you ask ME if you could renovate my room once I was gone?" I exclaimed, walking towards him. He stepped in front of me and looked down at me.
~
"I mean, once you leave, is it yours anymore." He sneered, giving me a smirk. I stepped back and rolled my eyes. "Well, dinner will be done in a little bit. I am making your favorite!" She looked at me and smiled. Derek and I walked towards the guest room, which looked better than I had last seen. Maybe that dick is actually helpful for something. We both sat our stuff down and began reviewing our portfolio on the witch. "The witch does not have a concise target we know of," Derek said, looking at the pictures of the victims. I started to cringe when I saw that my boss was one of those victims. "Maybe.. the call has something to do with it. Witches are generally sneaky and like to take you by surprise." I said, looking and analyzing the call log and photos. Before exploring the information, my mother called us and said dinner was ready.
~
The dinner table was silent as there was rarely anything to talk about. After about 5 minutes, Jordan began to strike up a conversation. "Ash, why don't cha tell us about your little boyfriend over here." He said, laughing. Getting under my skin was all he could do. He was like a gnat constantly pestering around where he shouldn't be. I hated him and his laugh to the absolute extreme. Before I could say anything, Derek exclaimed, "We are just partners, and after this case, nothing will happen. If we were in a relationship, the stuff that goes on would be none of your business. Because overall, you are not the true 'father,' right?" Derek said, giving him the stare. Jordan stared him down, and my mother and I sat there waiting for something else to happen. Jordan sat up in his chair, looked at Derek directly, and then back at me. "Fucking fags." He laughed. Everything had completely blanked out as I heard his laugh, and I stood up.
~
"Aw, the baby is going to fuck-" I punched him before he could finish his statement. He flipped backward out of the chair, and I began to walk away. "YOU FUCKING BITCH! I'LL KILL YOU!" He started to run up behind me and proceeded to slam me to the ground. He punched me across the face as I lay there. Just like old times, I said to myself. I looked up as my vision blurted, and I saw Derek come up behind him and slam his foot into Jordan's face. Before he could lunge at Derek, I pulled out my gun as everyone froze.
~
"A-Ash, y-you don't have to do it!" My mother exclaimed. Jordan sat there in fear wondering if I was going to pull the trigger or not. Tears had run down my face. "I SHOULD FUCKING KILL YOU!" I exclaimed. I never felt this much emotion and power before and it felt good. "YOU REMEMBER WHEN YOU HAD ME PINNED TO THE FLOOR! I TOLD YOU TO STOP AND YOU DIDN'T! YOU KEPT GOING AND GOING!" I screamed. I never liked showing my emotions, but getting this off my chest helped. "YOU FUCKED ME! IF ANYONE IS THE FAG IT IS YOU! FUCKING SICK PEDO!" I yelled. My mother sat there crying as she looked at me. Jordan sat there in shock and was the first time he was speechless. I pulled back up the gun toward him, "I SHOULD FUCKING DO IT! FOR ALL THE PAIN YOU CAUSED ME AND ALL THE HELL YOU PUT ME THROUGH!" I screamed even louder. I had felt hands around my arms and whisper in the back of my ear. "Let's go." Derek said, pulling my hands down. He put his jacket around me and we walked out of the door.
