Our breathing was heavy, and we sat in front of the door on the stairs. We saw the chief and the police officers alongside my mother. In shock, everyone stared at us like they had just seen a ghost. Well, news flash, you just did. My mother ran up to both of us and began to cry. "You guys have been in there for days!" She exclaimed before wrapping her arms around us again. She called the paramedics and told them to check and see if there were any fatal injuries. The paramedics rushed toward us, ensuring there wasn't any critical damage. I had been sitting in the back of the ambulance in distraught. I could not possibly understand what had just happened. At first, the witch had been all-mighty and could have perhaps defeated me with ease, then she began to falter, and I started to gain the power. Everything had been moving too fast for me to keep up, especially with my feelings toward "him." He walked up to me and looked me in the eyes. For the first time, he actually seemed utterly genuine. "Hey, kid, I am sorry for what happened back there-" He was cut off by the intense slap my mother gave him. She did not say anything but the fierce look in her eye showed that she meant business. I smiled at her. She waved her hands towards the officers and told them about what had happened with him and me. He darted towards the stairs of the lair as the officers chased after him. The house started to rumble, and it ultimately collapsed underneath him.

Everyone watched in awe as they could not understand what had just happened to "him" or the house itself. All they knew was that the case had been solved. "I guess you guys solved the case..." Chief muttered under his breath. "What was that? I couldn't hear you. I might need you to... SPEAK UP!" I exclaimed as Derek finished the rest of it. We both sat there and laughed as he began to cuss under his breath. We celebrated at the mini apartment-style hotel we were staying at and cheered. It was nice to finally relax and find time to enjoy. My mother had left a couple hours before; she wanted to burn "his" clothing. Everything that resembled him in the slightest bit would get incinerated. After the celebration ended, we were in the kitchen cleaning up before we went to bed.

"Hey Derek," I said, looking down at the dishes. "Did you mean what you said before we walked into the witch's lair?" I asked and turned off the water. I looked at him and wanted him to genuinely answer the question. He kept drying the dishes and did not look at me until he noticed I was looking at him. He stopped and turned in my direction. My face flushed; I could not believe I had just asked that question. "I mean.. did you not want to go our separate ways after this.. you don't like me." He said. He completely sounded broken. I could not understand what to do in this situation, but I let go of all the emotion and hugged him. I felt like, at that moment, it was the best thing I could do. After a few minutes, he pushed me away and stared at me. We had been close from hugging, and his face, that broken smirk that now made me want to melt. His hand began to slowly run up my back and to my face. I completely felt helpless as his hand caressed my face. I imagined that his hand would not be as gentle as it was. He grabbed my face and pulled it close to his. He was soft but firm when he caught me like he had wanted to do this before. Before he had wholly pressed his lips against mine, there was a pause. Our breathing patterns had been in sync, and he ran his hands down my arms, and my body ultimately got chills. He pressed his lips against mine. The gentle warmth of his lips pressed against mine felt tender. I pulled away in shock at what had just happened. I began to walk away before he pulled me back, and when he kissed me, it felt more passionate. His hands ran down to my waist as he lifted me off the floor and onto the counter. I could not believe I hated this man, and now I was making out with him on the counter, but I wanted more. My legs wrapped around his waist, and I ran my hands through his hair. He groaned as my body pressed against his. We were in sync; our bodies progressively began to move as the kiss continued.

I pulled away again, but this time with no intention of stopping. I flew towards the end of Derek's shirt and began to pull it off. He pulled the rest of the shirt off, and his body figure was something out of a movie. His body was perfect, from the abs, face, and personality. The total package is right there. My hands slowly stroked his picture-perfect body; he picked up my face and placed his lips on mine. He began teasing me, and after I started teasing him back, we went back to kissing. He picked me up, and we went into the bedroom. I could not help but keep kissing. My body had groaned for more, and I knew he wanted more.

I woke up and turned over to see Derek still lying there. I had turned to the clock to see what time it was, and it was around 9:30. I had started quietly getting up to pack and get ready to leave. He began to get up, and I stood with only his shirt. He stood up as well, and he was only in boxers. Man... the thoughts running through my head were not so hateful and pure anymore... He did that sly smirk, and I could not handle it, but I threw him the clothes. "It's time to go," I said, smirking and rolling my eyes. He walked up to me and began to run his hands down my back. "Under one condition..." He teased. My body, after last night, started writhing for more, but I controlled the urge. "That might be..." I said, knocking back.

~

I put my face close to his and then pulled it away. He smiled and rolled his eyes. "Fine, but you have to wear my shirt." He said with that sly smirk. I gradually hated that smirk, but at the same time, it made me want to like him more. We got ready and headed toward my mom's house to say our few goodbyes. "I will come to visit more now, mom!" I said, yelling from the car. "You better, or I will come down there and kick ya' ass!" She yelled back. She waved at the car as we drove down the highway.

~

There was a sign that we had just passed: "Farewell, Idaho," I said, smiling. I closed my eyes and put my hand over Derek's. Then I pressed my head against the window and fell asleep.

We solved our first official case.

END.
