I slowly opened the door as it creaked. We both turned on our flashlights and headed inside the house. The door slammed shut, and both of us jumped and turned around. "The hell!" Derek and I yelled, jerking our heads to the door. Lights started to flicker off and on, blinding us completely. "DON'T SPLIT UP!" I cried, trying to latch onto his shirt. I ended up hitting my head on the stairs and passed out. After what felt like days, I started to wake up. I looked around and started to panic. I saw a body on the floor that resembled my mother, and I began to crawl over to her. "No, No, NO!" I screamed, holding the corpse of my mother's dead body in my arms. Tears streamed down my face, and I heard a voice in the distance.

"You're like me, child. Embrace the power." A figure appeared out of the shadows and darted towards me. The figure was tall and lanky and resembled a woman. Enraged, I glanced at her and exclaimed, "BASTARD, YOU KILLED HER! I WON'T EVER BE LIKE YOU!" I screamed out at the top of my lungs. A gust of wind had blown from that direction of the room. "DON'T YOU RAISE YOUR VOICE AT ME, SLUT CHIL-" She began to yell before experiencing fear. "Y-You have something that I want.." She started again.

I stood in fear, trying to understand what she meant. "What do you mean?" I said, bewildered. "Your life." She exclaimed. My eyes widened when she stated what she wanted. "Everyone around you cares about you. Your mother, former boss, father, especially your stepfather, the chief, and y o u r p a r t n e r." She laughed manically as each of their bodies dropped from the ceiling. I jumped back and stumbled onto the floor. She stood there laughing, waiting for me to snap. "This isn't real. I will not believe it."

I said, walking toward her. My body was moving on its own, and I could not stop it, but then I heard a voice ring in the back of my head. "Use it, son. Keep going..." The voice said. It sounded so familiar, like someone I had known. My body had stopped moving, and I stepped back. "What?!" She exclaimed. My eyes had rolled in the back of my head, and I held my hand. The wind that she had used on me was reflected back at her. "I won't give you my life! No matter how much I pity mine, this is my life!" I roared as she went flying through the building.

The hallucinations had faded away completely. We rushed at each other, ultimately trading blows, one right after the other. Derek had been running towards the sounds of crashing noises and began to watch. He was in awe of what he just saw. The woman had slapped me down into him, and we collided. My eyes went back to normal as Derek held me. I ultimately went back to normal, and we both sat there waiting. "Well, this is it," I said, pushing his arm away. Derek stared at me and grabbed my hand, and put the camera in my hand. "WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT PERSON WHO NEVER CARED?! DON'T GIVE UP NOW! WE HAVE COME TOO FAR!" He yelled at me. His eyes were filled with hope and determination. I have never been more inclined to kiss someone before in my life. I caught myself and tried to enhance my abilities again. The lights flickered off and on, and I looked at the witch rushing at us. "HEY, WITCH! SAY CHEESE!" I said, taking the picture. She screeched as she flew around in pain. Derek and I bolted for the door and noticed that she began to chase us. "NO, NO, NO! I WON'T BE DEFEATED!" She screamed in agonizing pain. I took another picture before she reached the door and slammed door shut.
