The little bird feeder was being swarmed with sparrows and chickadees. Since pheasants are way too large to fit on the feeder, I laid on the ground below the feeder, waiting for for seed to fall to the ground. The sky was a wonderful blue today, with fluffy clouds and little to no wind. The bird feeder was surrounded with trees, but there was a human path when they came to refill out food. the only things I could hear was the soft chirping of birds that were eating above me. The shade I was sitting in protected myself from the rays of the spring sun.

Suddenly, a shape came out of the bushes behind me! I jumped up and looked to see what it was. I realized that it was another pheasant. I hadn't seen this one before, and I knew EVERY bird at this pond! He looked quite nice, with the sun shimering off of his feathers, and a clean body. He strutted to the bird feeder, then launched himself onto it! Successfully landing onto it, and eating the seed! He stayed there for about six minutes then jumped down gracefully to the soft grass. Even though so had only just seen this bird for the first time, I knew he was the one.
