He paws at the radio, trying to turn the station to one with much better music. He eventually gets the radio to cooperate, and he hums (can corgis hum?) the tune.

'Remember when we used to dance?

And incident arose from circumstance

One thing lead to another we were young

And we scream together songs unsung'

Gabriel draws a deep breath and belts out a song.

"It was the heeeeaaaatt of the moment

Heeeeaaaattt of the moment

Heeeeaaaattt of the moment showed in your eyes-

Hey! I was singing that!"

Sam had turned the radio off in the middle of Gabriel's solo.

"Out of all the songs you could listen to, and sing, you picked that one," Sam says, he crosses his arms. "Come on Sam! You're not still cut up about that mystery spot are you? That was seven years ago," Gabriel whines. Sam swallows as memories arise. "Oh wow, you are," Gabriel comments. "What do you want me to do? Go back in time and never do it? Because that was a looooonngggg time ago... Sometimes you just gotta let things go."

Gabriel walks away, Sam unfolds his arms.

"Hey! You try living one hundred and three Tuesdays, and two Wednesdays, and see how you like it!"

"You counted?"

"...So?"

"It obviously got in there didn't it? The lesson I was trying to drill in your freakish cro-magnon skull of yours. Maybe I wasn't talking to a brick wall."

"All you taught me that day was that monsters shouldn't be trusted."

"And yet you trusted Ruby."

Sam stands in shock. How did Gabriel know that?

"That was years ago... How did you know that?"

"I've got my connections here and there. How else do you think I was ready for you and Dean-o in Ohio with the Incredible Hulk?"

"You were waiting for us?"

"Of course I was! Had to teach the pair of you a lesson. But as usual, that went ignored."

"Because you wanted me to say 'yes' to the Devil."

"Because it was meant to be. Not to mention that you did, you let good ol' Luci in."

"Because I had to!"

"Exactly! You had to. You said 'yes' and all those years ago, Dean still went to Hell! I was trying to give you a heads up."

"Yeah well good job on that!"

Gabriel goes to yell, but loud, angry barks escape his vocal cords. He growls and snaps, angry corgi Gabriel was a bit scary.

He keeps barking and growling win no sign of stopping, then:

"...okay! That's why I did it! I hope you're happy!"

A sudden wave of emotion hits Sam. He doesn't cry or anything, but he feels sorry for the Trickster. He's got no idea what Gabriel was rambling, but he could tell it was a touchy subject.

Sam turns away, not able to look at the corgi, but he catches the others eye just for a moment. There it was again, unmistakably the Trickster. The wave of pity disappears as hate for the Trickster now dominates Sam's feelings. This morning was nice, granted, but they could never be friends. They could even be genuinely nice to each other for the rest of their lives.

When Sam turns back around, the corgi is gone. No where to be seen.

"Hopefully I won't see him for a while," Sam grumbles beneath his breath. He moves back to the laptop in which he was researching on until 'Heat of the Moment' came on.

Gabriel sits alone in a room, well Sam's room to be exact. He thinks about his past actions, not just what he did to Sam, but leaving Heaven, the whole 'Kali' phase. He thinks about it all, which is something he has never done before. Not completely anyway. He tries to push the pain and the thoughts away, but they just snake their way back in.

--------

Sam peeks around corners as he searches for Gabriel. He had to find the corgi, the poor idiot might be stuck on a high desk or something.

He sees Gabriel lying on the floor of his bedroom, he looks sad.

"Wha- what were you saying earlier? When you started barking... what were you saying?"

No reply.

"Gabriel?"

No reply.

"Come on, please... I need- I need to know. What were you barking, why was it so important to you?"

No reply.

"Gabriel, please."

No reply.

"Oh, so it's the silent treatment now? Well two can play at this game."

No reply.

"Fine. But don't expect me to talk when you're ready."

No reply.

Sam leaves the room and the corgi moves so he can see the door better.

They better get used to each other, because there will be some long days heading their way.

------

They hadn't spoken in weeks.

Dean and Castiel would report on any new findings, but Sam and Gabriel wouldn't talk. They would hardly look at each other, they would hardly ever be in the same room. Yet Gabriel still hung out in Sam's room in daylight, and Sam would be in the library. But when night came around, Gabriel scooted off to some other bedroom so he wouldn't have to face Sam. Dean and Castiel ( but mainly Castiel) tried to get them to interact, but Castiel ended up being the one to take Gabriel to the park and Sam would just chill with Dean.

The Bunker was a very quiet place.
