Sam had not mentioned Gabriel talking in his sleep, another thing that should be kept secret, like his feelings- wait what?

"Come on, here!" Sam calls to the corgi, who growls and barks and plays. Gabriel had gone all 'corgi' style, and was being deprived of some fun.

He runs over to Sam with a ball in his mouth and drops it in front of him, he picks it up and tosses it into the depths of the Bunker. You see, it was cold outside so they didn't want to have to face the cold.

Gabriel corgi runs back to Sam a few minutes later with an angel blade in his mouth and drops it, he pants happily.

"Uumm," Sam bends over and picks the blade up, he inspects it and though they all look the same, this one had a different feel to it. He looks down to the corgi who sits and stops panting as he turns his head to the side. The corgi barks once.

Sam looks at the blade and figures it must been an Archangel blade, so he puts it on a nearby table and returns to the Trickster corgi.

"Where's the ball, huh?" He asks, he knows that fulfilling Gabriel's dog needs were bad, but he had to entertain him when he was all corgied up and un-trickster like.

The corgi blinks and returns to being Gabriel.

"Hey, whoa. Standing a little close there," he says. Sam moves away slightly and makes a decision. He moves to the angel blade next to him and shows Gabriel. "You brought this to me just now, why?"

Gabriel blinks a few times. "I don't know. Now when I do the corgi thing I lose time, remember? So anything that happens when I'm full corgi, I won't remember," he answers.

He pads off down the hallway, probably to the library. Sam goes to his room and puts the blade in a draw, deciding to forget about it. He goes to the library where he finds Gabriel curled up on a chair.

"You said you're not going to lose me to some, and I quote, 'bullshit curse like you've lost everyone else you love', un-quote. Mind explaining that to me," Gabriel commands. Sam remains like a deer in the headlights.

"I have begun to actually like you. You are now, and always will be, my friend, Gabriel," Sam answers. He meant every word, just it wasn't friendship his heart desired.

Gabriel slowly nods and rest his head in his paws, Sam walks over and picks The Hobbit up and moves Gabriel to the side so he can fit too. The human moose reads aloud while Gabriel sits nuzzled beside Sam.

They both fall asleep after chapter five and sleep soundly with nobody to wake them up or take pictures...

----

"Rise and shine Sammy! Your brother's back!" Dean shakes his brother awake but ends up stirring Gabriel instead.

Dean walks away suddenly as Sam comes to. "Now that you're awake, we have bad news. We can't find Balthazar. He maybe be still dead, or he's covering his tracks better," Castiel states.

"And you could say this over the phone because...?"

"We need you Sammy. We need your nerd skills to track him down," Dean interjects.

"I could find him," Gabriel announces. "I was close enough to him to know-"

"But you're a corgi. You don't have access to your powers like you usually would," Dean cuts in.

"I'm still his brother," the Trickster snaps.

"And so am I," Castiel adds. "Gabriel and I will go out and search for Balthazar, and you two can do research here," he also says.

Castiel flies himself and Gabriel out and leaves Dean and Sam. "I'll just wait here then," Dean whispers.

-----

"So, you and Sam are getting close..."

"You sound like a ten year old girl."

"You know what Gabriel?"

"What?"

"He loves you, and you love him. And it's like a father dammed tragedy because, he looks at you and sees the sun. And you look at him and see stars. But you both just think the other is looking at the ground!"

"What are you talking about?"

"Sam!"

"Oh please! As if!"

"As if what?"

"As if I could fall for a Winchester. But you certainly think it's easy, having already done it."

"What are you talking about?"

"Dean!"

Castiel shuts up.

"Yeah, I thought so," the corgi huffs and the brothers move forwards through the city, searching for signs of Balthazar.

----

Sam had torn apart the internet looking for anything Balthazar related, and comes up with nothing. Dean has been daydreaming about Castiel- I mean he hasn't! But he has... shhh!

"Hey Sammy?"

"What?"

"What's up with you and the Trickster?"

"First of all, you've never called him Gabriel, and that's his name. Second of all, nothing. Absolutely nothing has happened."

"So you both absolutely hate each other's guts?"

"Well we... We are- ah- ah... friends. We're friends..."

"So something has happened?"

Sam turns around angrily.

"You know what Dean? How 'bout you take your question and shove 'em up your ass, or better yet, shove 'em up Cas'!"

Ouch. Snappy Sammy.

Dean looks at him, part offended, part shocked, part confused and all 'round terrified.

"Okay then, just asking some questions," Dean walks off, but Sam, calls out.

"Hey, maybe next time, evaluate you and Cas!" He shouts, Dean continues walking away.

-----

One day had passed since the new groups.

"Gabriel proved no help at all," Castiel says as he flies into the Bunker, the corgi beside him.

Sam looks from his laptop, and Dean from his burger. Castiel walks away to some deep part of the Bunker as Dean finishes his burger and Sam continues his research.

"What's up shorty?" Gabriel asks as he approaches Sam, Sam raises an eyebrow. "Shorty, seriously? Consider your height now, and naturally, you shouldn't be making short jokes."

"Oh burn!" Dean shouts from the table not too far from Sam.

"Like your mother," Gabriel dead pans.

"That was cold and offensive," Sam says.

"You're right, sorry kiddos," Gabriel says.

Whoa wait. Did Gabriel just willingly apologise straight away?

Dean glares at the corgi and leaves with his plate, Sam chuckles slightly and he types something into the search engine.

"Whatcha researching?" He corgi asks, "something," Sam replies. This raises suspicion in Gabriel so he endeavours to get onto the table and look at the laptop screen.

"So you're researching tricksters?" Gabriel questions once he sees the laptop. "Yeah, I want to know if they've always had a cruel sense of humour," Sam answers as he reads on.

"Well I am Loki, you know, the God of mischief. So yeah, they've always had my sense of humour," Gabriel says. Sam sighs and closes the laptop, "let's go." He commands, Gabriel looks at him oddly. "Where to?" He asks, "out," Sam replies as he picks up the corgi and leaves the Bunker.
