Before Hank had time to react any more, he was grabbed by a giant fist and slammed against the wall. The claws left scars in his sides were gushing blood and Hank could feel himself losing his strength fast.

Arms protectively wrapped around his torso, he tried to stand up. He was shoved against the wall with just as much force as before, creating a crack in it behind him, and his body started to give out. He tried to push back the giant hand pushing him into the wall, but it was no use. He couldn't breathe or move.

The demon dropped him when he stopped struggling.

"GET UP!"

Much to the demon's dismay, Hank and his nearly dismembered corpse did not get up.

"..."

Hank woke up with a sudden jolt, as if he'd been shocked or electrocuted by something. His wounds were healed, body reenergized. The first thing he saw was the demon looming above him.

He grabbed his sword, the only weapon he now had on him, and threw it at the demon's face. It bounced harmlessly off of it but the demon flinched back slightly. He shook his head and narrowed his eyes at Hank, clearly annoyed.

Hank let out a frustrated sigh. "Fuck off!"

He staggered to his feet and looked around frantically, looking for some possible defense before he could be caught again. The gun his coworker had been using before being- basically mutilated- was laying a few feet away.

He ran for it. He got hold of the handle before his legs were knocked out from under him, and the demon dragged him back.

As soon as it let go, Hank turned around, meeting the demon's murderous gaze once again as it prepared to attack. But it liked messing with him, Hank forgot about that- until a deep wound was gouged into his side by a big, sharp claw.

Hank gritted his teeth, forcing himself to stay quiet rather than show the thing he was weaker. The pain was excrutiating and shot all the way up and down his body, making him involuntarily seize up.

He forced himself to pull himself together and attempted to catch his breath. Blood was beginning to well up in his throat and he uncovered his metal jaw and spat some of it out to the side.

He turned back to the demon.

"Let's just get this shit over with."

Hank flipped the gun, aimed it straight at the demon's head, and fired.

And almost instantly, the surrounding area glitched out, static, symbols, confusing words, and Hank was back at the Nexus base.

He looked around at the empty area, raised his eyebrows.

Wow. Was it that easy now?

For a moment, he'd forgotten about the gushing wound in his side, but as soon as the adrenaline began to wear off, Hank realized how worn out he was. He struggled to keep himself upright, but he'd already lost so much blood, so little or anything was really making it to his body. Especially his head, in which every thought he had and everything he saw around him just started to blend together. His whole body shook with the effort of even standing up, and he felt his legs beginning to give out.

He fell back against the wall he'd been using for support and looked around the room for any sort of medical supplies- but there seemed to be none.

He heard footsteps coming down the hall, and he froze. He was in no condition to fight anyone, and he thought he'd already gotten rid of all the agents in the area. Who was this?

The footsteps stopped at the doorway, and the door slowly opened.

Hank, red lenses met a slightly darker red, raised eyebrows and crossed arms.

"Well well well.. What has my favorite mercenary gotten themself into this time?"
