Morning had arrived rather quickly in Tanjirou's opinion. He stirred from his sleep to find arms wrapped around him. His legs stuck slightly out from under the covers, leaving a chill to race along his body. The slight movement drew Muzan from his slumber, those arms holding Tanjirou even tighter. He couldn't help but chuckle at the notion. A low whisper washed over him, Muzan nuzzling into Tanjirou.
"How are you feeling?" Tanjirou pondered the question before feeling Muzan release him. Turning, he stopped as a pang of pain shot through his hips, a slight hiss leaving him. The Demon glanced his way, a smirk present. "Figured. Let me help you."
"God, why does everything hurt so badly?"
"That's just how it is. I did go kind of rough at one point, so apologies." Tanjirou hummed, reaching out his hands as Muzan pulled him from the bed. Once more, he tapped his foot as a biwa rung out, the floor shifting as they were no longer in the room and instead within a hotspring of sorts. The steam was highly welcomed at that moment, Muzan lowering him into the water. He climbed in beside him, watching as Tanjirou melted to the warmth. "Figured you should use this medical bath before heading back. Don't really want questions to why you have a slight limp."
"Oh my gosh, that would end me. The embarrassment would be too much." Muzan chuckled, his head tilting to the side a bit as he softened his gaze.
"Did you enjoy last night?"
"What type of question is that? Of course. It was more than I had expected. Truthfully, I'd never really thought about sex before..." There was a long silence, Muzan nodding as he grabbed the soap.
"Come here and sit before me." Listening, Tanjirou sat between the others legs as fingers pressed in the soap. The feeling was relaxing, Tanjirou leaning into the touch. His hum of approval made the Demon chuckle as he carried on, merely enjoying the time the two had. "I've been wondering Tanjirou... If you can forgive me, do you think your sister ever will?"
"Hm... I'm not sure. Time can only tell, but it would mean bringing her to meet you. Maybe next time you can introduce me to the other Uppermoon and I can try to get my sister to open up."
"That would be nice. I really do owe her an apology as well..." Tanjirou tipped his head back, noticing Muzan's gloomy appearance. Releasing a gentle sigh, he turned before resting his arms around the other's neck. His voice was low, soothing to the Demon.
"I am sure it will all work out. She wishes me happy, so if I say you are that happiness, she'll be more inclined to listen to you. I promise I will try everything." Muzan smiled softly, his fingers holding Tanjirou's chin as he planted a soft peck. Releasing it, he breathed a sigh of relief.
"Alright, dip your head and finish up. The longer you wait, the more they'll pester you about where you've gone." Tanjirou hummed, understanding. Dipping his head beneath the water, he scrubbed the soap out before climbing from the water. Surprisingly, the pain in his hips was almost entirely gone. Stretching, he noticed Muzan's wandering gaze.
"Hey, no window shopping. Come on, I've got to get changed!"
"I know." He climbed from the water as well, slowly approaching before the same routine happened. The area shifted before they were once more inside the same room, only this time clean clothes rested on the bed. His uniform and haori were neatly folded. Grabbing them, he changed before feeling a finger touch his hair. The water dripped from it, leading to Muzan seating the other. He did what he could to dry it almost completely before smiling at his work. "Alright. I'll have Nakime send you back to the village. Hopefully you think up an excuse."
"Oh please, they wouldn't think I was lying if I said I decided to stay at an inn. I've gained their trust, not that I've given a reason for them to not trust me. I am still a Demon slayer, just different from the rest."
"Indeed. You're the first with a Demon Lover~" Arms wrapped around Tanjirou as the Demon slayer chuckled. Hugging back, he broke it before giving a smile. "Nakime, put him back in the town, somewhere out of sight from the people."
Tanjirou breathed gently, watching Muzan as the biwa sounded. The floor shifted below him, opening up as he embraced the darkness before being spit out on the other side. It was morning in the village, a perfect time to return. Demon did not lurk in morning, which would lower suspicion. Holding the mask and bracelet he'd got, he smiled lightly before heading through the village toward the estate, holding not an ounce of worry, only joy.
Muzan moved through the space, finding the main room where the Uppermoon were present. He took one look before sighing, almost missing Tanjirou's presence. But work was important. He had tasks to complete, a goal in mind. Even though Tanjirou would no doubt be dragged into it, it was mandatory he carry on. Tanjirou was a Demon slayer. He was a Demon. Yet the two had a bond that made Muzan feel much higher. More powerful. More loved. It was a feeling he hoped never left him.
"Muzan-sama! We heard you had a guest last night, though it was a rumor of sorts." Akaza's voice drew the Demon, his smile rising. The sight alone caught most off guard. It wasn't malicious, but genuine.
"I did indeed. You guys will meet them sometime soon, so when you do, it's best to treat them well. They've become special to me, understood?" The Uppermoon nodded, Douma raising a brow.
"Might I inquire the name of this individual or even appearance so we might not mistake them. It'd be bad if a Demon attacked them after all." Muzan hummed, taking a seat as he tilted his head.
"You're right. Truthfully, it might shock you who it is. Would you believe me if I said it was a Demon slayer?" An uproar broke out for a moment, at least until Muzan silenced them. Douma seemed skeptical.
"A Demon Slayer? They hate the Demons, so who would decide to love one?"
"You remember the Demon Slayer I had decided I wanted dead? Turns out he is capable of changing many things. He's made me feel emotions that I thought impossible. I will say this only once, so listen well. Tanjirou Kamado, a Demon slayer wearing hanafuda earrings is to remain untouched. If ever you encounter him with other Demon slayers, you may injure him, but not kill him. He is still seeking his own goal, so running from him will draw suspicion." The Uppermoon nodded slowly, still trying to understand how a Demon Slayer changed Muzan so much. They weren't complaining of course. The Demon King himself was more gentle, which was valued by the Uppermoon. It felt less terrifying to be before him.
"Muzan-sama?"
"Yes, Akaza?" The Uppermoon hesitated before meeting Muzan's gaze. It was daring and most feared he worst for their comrade. But there was no repercussions. Muzan merely waited for Akaza to speak.
"Do you love this Demon Slayer?"
"If you'd asked me a couple days ago, I'd be unsure. But I can say truthfully, I do. He's special. His calm and gentle soul is like the sun itself." Akaza felt satisfied, his smile showing.
"Glad to see you happy, Muzan-sama. I look forward to meeting this Tanjirou that has you high spirits." The rest nodded in unison, mentally thanking Tanjirou. It was new for them, to see Muzan so calm. It was something they could all get used to.
