A/N: So this is kinda short as it's a little snipped of a different Bucky thing I was writing just for myself, but then I made this book and thought I'd add this part cause I really liked it, so sorry it's short. Also I've realised that basically all of the chapters I've put out of this book so far have been, for lack of a better word, kinda angsty, so I kinda wanna write something cute and fluffy but that's not really my strong point, but we'll see. Anyway I hope you enjoy this lil small chapter! Mwah!

Y/N and Bucky were the bestest of friends, always there when the other needed them most.

As a sign of their friendship, he gave her his dog tags and she never took them off, wearing them through everything, the dog tags were loved and so were the pair.

They were bestfriends, and maybe, or at least she though, getting to be more then that.

Then one day, he came home, back to the avengers compound, with a girlfriend. Which, to be frank, kind of broke Y/N's heart. But she didn't let it show, she couldn't lose her bestfriend over a silly crush.

One day, she was looking in the mirror as she got ready and noticed the dogtags. They were something she never took off, and had become basically a second skin for the girl, so much that she had basically forgotten about them.
Suddenly she felt bad that they were in her possession and decided to do something about it.

"Hey Buck can i talk to you?" She asked quietly, walking into the living room of the avengers compound. Directing her attention to the man who was just sat on the couch next to Steve and Sam.

He nodded, standing and the pair walked a little way away so that they could speak in private.

"What's up?" He asked softly, a small hint of worry present in his tone, she gave him a reassuring smile before taking the dogtags off from around her neck

"I'm giving these back." Y/N stated, he gave her a confused look so she elaborated "I feel bad, your girlfriend should have them not me."

She held out her hand to give them to Bucky but he didn't take them, he just sighed "but I gave them to you Y/N/N."

"I know Buck, but I feel bad, they shouldn't belong to me."

The man sounded hurt as he spoke "but I want them to belong to you." Y/N shook her head with a sad smile, taking Bucky's hand and placing the chain into his palm, Bucky stared into the girl's eyes, he could tell that deep down, doing this hurt her, she didn't really want to give them away.

"No." He shook his head "but-"

The pair were interrupted by Bucky's girlfriend walking in the room, clearly unaware of the conversation that was going on, she seemed slightly annoyed at the close proximity at which the pair were standing "hey guys, what you talking about?" She asked innocently

"Doesn't matter, the conversations over anyway." Bucky said to his girlfriend before turning back to Y/N and taking her hand, he placed the tags back in her palm before gently closing her hand around it "please.." he muttered, she just sighed, turning away.

She made brief eye-contact with Bucky's girlfriend as she began to walk away, the woman looked less than pleased. Y/N just put the dogtags back around her neck, Bucky gave a small smile.
