The summer night was warm and inviting as Bucky and Y/N quietly slipped out of the avengers compound.

They were both still in pyjamas, but instead of sleeping the pair decided to go outside together and look at the stars, and It was the perfect night for that.

He sat himself down on the ground and she followed suit, leaning back as they looked up at the sky. It was a bright clear night, the stars shining down on the pair. It was beautiful.

Y/N moved closer to Bucky, they both stayed in a comfortable silence not particularly having anything to say, but he put his arm around her shoulder.

"It's beautiful." She eventually muttered, he just murmured a quiet agreement.

He was lost in thought, and was going to do something risky. He took his arm away and turned himself toward her, clearing his throat quietly before speaking "hey Y/N, we're best friends right?"

"Of course?" She replied, her tone a mixture of worry and confusion at why he was asking an obvious question, or at least it was obvious in her mind.

She wouldn't have wanted to be best friends with anyone else. He was funny, and kind and compassionate and he understood her in a way no one else did. They made the best team on missions and to be honest, she loved him. A lot.

"Well this may seem selfish, but that isn't enough. I love you Y/N, I'm in love with you and I want you. Not just as my bestfriend." The words were spoken almost quiet enough that she didn't hear, but she did and they were ringing through her mind. Repeatedly, over and over again.

She didn't know what to say, this was all she had ever wanted. But she was frozen.

"Y/N?" He asked.

Then her lips were on his, her hands found their way to his face and his found her waist, pulling her closer. She didn't need to speak, this was the only thing she needed to say.

They both agreed that the stars weren't the only beautiful things out here tonight.
