explained (chapter 31)

after we had finished in the gym the class walked back into the classroom and everyone sat down at their desks. We watched some clips and i asked some questions before there were just a few minutes left

"Anyone got any questions they wanna ask before the lesson is up?

No one put their hand up, i was about to continue until Midoria's shot up

"Sensei, if no one has any questions about today can we talk about something unrelated to the work?"

"Uhmm depends on what it is? " i forced a chuckle trying to mask my 'mixed' emotions towards shota

"Well, we found out what hero you are and wanted to talk about your quirk"" the broccoli-haired boy cheered.

"Wow, good work guys! So who do you think i am?"

"You're Core" Bakugo roared out, clearly annoyed at how long Midoria was taking to spit it out.

"Wow guys i'm impressed" i smiled at them, quite genuinely this time

"we know your name but there wasn't many things about you online about your quirk only your past jobs. loads of people had theories but you never really explained it."

"yh according to the internet you refuse to talk to the press what's up with that?" bakugo stated leaning on his chair

it's true. i was more of an underground hero even with my quirk i wasn't a fan of the attention or interviews. they made me really nervous so i never really confirmed anyone's theories or denied them afraid of letting people down

"Bakugo don't lean on that chair or you'll crack your head open' Bakugo rolled his eyes but obeyed with a scoff 'but Okay well we have a few mins, i think you guys deserve an explanation since you did really well at finding my name. So I called myself 'core' because of the centre of the earth, i get all my energy from the earth so i thought it was only fitting. My body is very much connected to nature and its non-animal creatures so, any plants or just general energy or growth and creation.I can't exactly give life to things but i can almost lend them my soul. well that's the way i've always thought of it. so for example i can create a big monster and give them a part of my soul and tell them to do something then they can think like me. An example is if i made a protector out of say, bark and trees and i lent them my soul and told them to protect you, i can't see what that creature sees so it does what that part of my soul wants me to do. In this case, it would be to protect you and it would do anything in it's power to help. Sometimes i create them unknowing or unwillingly and have to deal with them myself but those are just the perks of having my quirk. my hair grows long-only on my head for some reason and i can kind of control it similar to Aizawa sensei's capture tool and well another small perk is that flowers bloom in my hair and the type and colour depend on how i'm feeling. i guess that's basically it." 

i could hear Midoria whispering to himself as he scratched his pen in his notebook. the rest of the class continued to ask questions before the bell rang and they were dismissed.

it was nice to not think about shota for while. i hate what he's doing it reminds me of Riku. ugh the way he used to ignore me when i did the smallest thing wrong or when i'd be mad at him for something he'd find a way of making me apologize 

"you're so stupid y/n sometimes I question why i ever thought you were anything more than a washed-up self-centred wanna be hero who couldn't even save her own brother" Riku's words stunned in my brain causing painful shivers to knive down my spine. 

why now? why... i haven't thought about Riku since Hizashi brought him up so why now? do I really think Shota would treat me that way? no... no he wouldn't i... i don't know. why is he doing this! why won't he talk to me, i miss him so much, he is being so distant... WHY!

droplets formed on my lower lashes as i blinked them away. THAT FUCKING ASSHOLE.

Finally the end of the day. all I wanted to do was go home and sleep away the day. 

"Miss Y/n could you please come to my office," a little white mouse/ bear thing said smiling at me.

"oh, of course principle Nezu" oh shit, oh shit did one of the students complain about Aizawa and i oh shit, oh shit,  run! NO, just start apologizing and beg for him to not fire you, wait! no play it off... nothing happened it was all staged so the students could see what it's like to have two heroes fight... I'm fucked

We entered his office and I sat across from him at his desk

"i wanted to say congratulations." what? i thought to myself  "class 1A's mid-term test results were up by 36% this term."

jeezus christ THAT'S IT! I ALMOST SHAT MYSELF!

"oh thank you, sir, I had no idea"

"yes it's quite an achievement, so much that you've been offered another job"

another job? i questioned in my head

"yes U.A. Highschool is 'expanding' i guess is the right word to use. The school board have decided to open up another school in a more 'underprivileged' area in the south so it's more accessible to them and they have offered you a place there of course it will be accompanied by a raise and you'd be the head of the departement" 

"holy shit" HOLY SHIT I JUST SAID THAT OUTLOUD

"i guess you could say that" Nezu chuckled out "of course your place here is always availabe if you turn down the other job, just wanted you to know your options"

wow another job, that would be such a good experience and it's a fast track in moving up the 'education' job ladder "i really appreciate the offer sir, but i'm afraid i'm going to have to pass"

"oh? right away? do you not want to sleep on it?"

"i don't need to sir, i know my answer"

"i see, well they don't need an answer until next Friday so why don't you take this weekend to think it over and i will ask you again on Friday"

i guess this mouse doesn't like taking no for an answer " that sounds good sir, thank you" i raised from my seat and bowed at Nezu before turning and walking out.
