"So, this is boring as shit, eh?" Castiel turned to me and rolled her eyes, "nobody cares about iambic pentametres. Freaking English class."

I scribbled notes onto my paper, "I actually quite enjoy poetry. I find ambition in any literature, but poetry is fantastic. Sonnets especially."

"Nerd," she played with my hair. "So, all day Charlie's been screaming that you want to ask me something. Do you, or is that just Charlie?"

My face got hot, "U-Um, she's right I do want to ask something..."

Cas leaned over her chair and rested on my desk, "Well? Shoot."

"D-Do you...um, that is...a movie...me," I stammered, "Shit I fucked it all up, I...well y'know you--"

"Yes, I'll go to the movies with you," she smiled confidently, "Just so long as it's Marvel."

I smiled, "Now who's the nerd, nerd?"

"Shut it, you!" she stuck her tongue out at me, giggling cutely. "Friday, seven?"

I nodded, heart thumping like an African drum, "Sounds good! Wait, um-- what's your address?"

She lost some of the light from her eyes for a split second before cracking another sweet grin. "Just pick me up at the bus stop on 22nd Ave. That okay?"

"Sure." I won't ask why.

Charlie was bouncing up and down like Nagisa on tournament day. "Yes! Yes! Yes! What did she say?! Was she happy?! Where are you meeting?! What're you doing?! Do you plan on getting her in bed?!?"

I held my hands up, "Whoa, whoa, Charles! Slow down with the questions! It's only the first date, so I doubt anything too exciting will happen. We're just going to see a Marvel movie."

"Ooh! The newest Avengers film, right? Oh, I wish I could come!" Charlie said woefully. "And who cares what date it is? If given the chance, get under the sheets! That's my motto."

I rolled my eyes. "Charlie, I'm trying to show her how different I am from the other popular guys. Ushering her out of her clothes when we barely know each other isn't going to prove my point."

Charlie huffed, "You're no fun."

"If you'll excuse me, Miss Horn-Dog," I joked, "I have a date to prep for. Ta-ta!"

As I skipped away, Charlie yelled after me. "Your date isn't for another three and a half days!"

"Yeah?" I yelled back, "your point?"

It took me several minutes to find the bus stop Castiel had told me to pick her up from. Eventually I found her waving at me from a street corner.

"What happened to the bus stop?" I asked as she climbed into the Impala.

She laughed guiltily, "I was headed there, but then I saw you. Sorry!"

I shook my head. "No problem. How are you? Y-You look really..."

Just then, I got a proper glance at her attire. A pretty dark blue high-collar dress - a colour that suited her exceptionally well - was paired with cute beige flats and an empty silver chain around her neck. Her lipstick was plain gloss, and her eyes were simply winged eyeliner style. She looked beautiful.
