Now You Know (Lisa POV)

"You hungry?" I asked jennie soon as we step out of cinema. She look at me while flaunting her soft smile. "Hmm no" she answered short. I don't know why but it seems like she's affected by my touch in the cinema. She didn't even complained on the horror movie. Suddenly I felt worried. Did I made a wrong step? I think I was crossing the line since I should have asked for her consent before holding her hand. Am I Right? But I couldn't control myself! Cause I don't want her to feel uncomfortable watching horrifying scene on the screen that's why I'm trying to calm her down. I'm not taking an advantage. Maybe a little. But it's just a simple holding hand. Argh. I started to overthinking and I couldn't longer hide it. Soon I break the silence again. "Umm jennie.. I'm sorry" I apologized. She looks confused upon hearing my words. "What for?" she asked softly while looking at me. "Cause I hold your hand without your permission?" I spilled whats in my mind. She laugh a little to me and actually it ease my wariness. "Its fine, I'm fine" she answered. Maybe I was wrong, but I saw her cheeks blushing which makes her cuter.

"Lets just have some coffee and cake before we go back home" I suggested. 'We go back home' why does it sounds so natural to me. As if we're already together when as a matter of fact we aren't. I like it honestly. She smile to me as a respond without a single words coming out from her mouth. Soon we arrived at the mall's cafe. We took some time savouring light foods while talking about random stuff. "Jennie. Since you're good in cooking. Do you know what ingredient they used in this cake?" I asked jennie that is currently busy observing the taste of the cake. She laugh a little before she answered. "Ofcourse. It wasn't that hard. I think if they add more chocolate in it, everything will be perfect". Its amusing to see her pointing out her opinion and she know exactly what makes the food taste better. If only her family have a great background she probably already study in the university and become a sucessful chef.

Weeks after that, "Wow! Can't believe its less than a month before we could go back home" one of my collegue stated while savouring his lunch box. Suddenly jennie's image came into my mind. I still didn't tell her that I'm going back to my country in less than a month. I didn't realised I was staring at the foods that she prepared for me. Not until one of my collegue interupting me. "Lisa?! Helloooo" I was confused for a second. Did they say something. "um what? I'm sorry I'm lost for a second". I said while trying to follow up their conversation. "well tracy asked just now, who prepared your lunch box? Appearantly her uncle here is looking for a chef assistant in his hotel, she may be qualified" they continued. This is actually a good idea. Maybe this will be a good start for jennie to built up her own career. "Its somebody that I know" I answered short. "well if she interested, let me know. Honestly this is a very good opportunity, since my uncle normally provide free accomodation and transportation for his kitchen worker" tracy added. It is indeed a good offer especially for someone like jennie. "I'll try to talk to her later" I replied to them instantly. I really think this would suits jennie well.

"Jennie?" I called as I knocked on her door. Soon she open the door while flaunting her smile. "Hi you busy? Can we talk?" I asked softly. Actually I felt nervous since I was planning to tell her the truth about me. "No. I'm free" she answered short while putting a small smile. A moment later we sit in the dining area while having a hot coffee. "Jennie. We never have like a deep conversation before right, althought we see each other for a month now. So.." I started the conversation. I took a sip of coffee before I begin to talk again. Jennie was all quiet. I assumed she's curious to why suddenly I want to talk about us. "Honestly, soon as you came in, the mood in my house changed. You light up the mood in my place and it feels so nice. And believe me I like when you're here. And I feel lucky that I got my own personal talented chef at my home" upon hearing my last sentences she laugh a little. She gave me a soft stares and it makes things even harder. How to confess to her? "But.. That is not the main point that I want to confess to you. Actually.. I'm not living permanent here. This place is rented. I only came here to attend 3 months course. And In 3 weeks time. I'm going back home to my country" I gulp as I finished my sentences. She look stunned by my revelation. Her mouth was half open and her eyes were blinking rapidly diverting her sight away from me. She seems devastated.

"But jennie I'm not gonna leave you here without doing anything. So another thing that I want to tell you is, there's a job offer for you. Tracy, my collegue, her uncle is currently looking for a chef assistant in his hotel and I was wonder if you're interested?" I asked while looking at her intently. My heart thumping so fast as I told her everything. And her facial expression kind of crushing me inside. She looks so lost and low. "The good thing is they provide accomodation and transportation. All free!" I added trying to convince jennie just to lift up the mood. I know she probably feel sad about this. She didn't even smile at me. She seems to be in a deep thought and just puzzled. After quiet some times she started to speak. "Well um okey. Let me know when is the interview" lowly she said while looking at me. Her eyes looks watery now. And It hurts me inside. "I'm.. Just gonna take a rest now" she continued while putting a small smile on her face. She's smiling but it didn't even reach her eyes. I could see it clearly. Somehow I could read her emotion. Her respond tearing my soul. Soon she left leaving me alone in the dining area, I felt broken inside.

Now that I keep on wondering whether this is the right thing to do.
