Wilbur stood in Tommy's way. "You're not going back. Not today." Wilbur gestured to Eret and Phil. "We've got this under control."

Someone was missing. "Where's Techno?" Tommy asked.

Eret turned around to point at his body, his hair messily swept to one side and stubbornly sat staring at the ceiling. The other Eret turned his head at the mention of his name. Techno.

"Possession," Tommy gasped.

I knew it.

"It was Techno's idea. He's the one to thank," Phil added.

Of all people, Techno didn't strike him as the type of person who would volunteer to try possession.

"We don't have time to gawk and stare," Wilbur reminded them. "I'm going next. Phil, keep an eye on Tommy."

Tommy didn't listen to Wilbur's directions, he was going to Tubbo's. He simply thought and... nothing. It was a simple room he had practically memorized, yet something wasn't clicking. Tommy frowned, angry at himself.

"Phil stays with you. Ready, Techno? Over here, Eret." Wilbur started getting ready while tears stung Tommy's eyes. One simple thing. What was wrong with him?

"Do you want me to bring you?" Phil offered, "You don't seem up for such a long distance."

"No, I'm only going to Tubbo's. I'm fine." Oh, how much he wanted to believe the lies he slipped through his teeth.

"Uh huh." Phil clearly didn't believe him. "You have to be honest with yourself, okay? If you need a break, I can check for you. I'll carry you if you want, but you have to admit you're not at a hundred percent right now."

Tommy grimaced. "I can do it."

Phil knew Tommy's stubbornness wasn't going to get them anywhere. Before he could push him away, Phil grabbed Tommy tight and brought him back to Tubbo's.

"There you go."

Tommy smiled slightly, maintaining his glare, which was enough of a thank you. He turned back to where he had just been sat, minutes or hours ago, time never seemed to apply to the void. He could barely comprehend the surreality of seeing a body he had just been in, unconscious and forgotten like a leaf caught in the wind.

"I'll be right here," Phil reassured him. He saw Tommy's determination, like he had a plan and there was no stopping him from following it. "I'm not going to stop you, just remember Wilbur and Eret are down there to help you."

I'm here.

Tommy didn't have to be told twice. Tommy pulled Tubbo's headphones off of his ears and grabbed Tubbo. Instead of the overwhelming dark he anticipated, or even possession, there was nothing. Nothing, nothing, nothing. Just the touch of skin, no spark, no reaction.

"Fuck!" Tommy exclaimed. "I can't do anything helpful when I need to! The one thing, the one thing, I was good for, gone!"

He clutched his head in his hands. "Techno can do it, too..."

"And Tubbo's gone," Tommy admitted under his breath. The words pained him too much, and he immediately wanted to take them back. There was no closure, no freedom, only an empty, broken, half of a person.

Phil nudged him up from where he had frozen still. "He's not gone, Wilbur and Eret might find him."

They won't.

Tommy was distracted by a faint light casting a small glow around the room. It looked like the reflection of the moon or light vaguely bouncing off the window.
