I introduce myself and shake hands with the manager, and I quickly let go. Maddie does the same, and so do all the adults.
Owen motions for Maddie and I to follow him. He gives Maddie and I a tour of the stadium, and we are joined by Aunt Alicia as we leave the lounge.
"Fortunately, Mom won't embarass the two of us on the tour. Especially me. She knows I hate it when she does that," whispers Maddie, and I nod. Maddie and I whip out our Tracking Glasses and put them on.
Owen turns around to face us. "You two wear glasses?" he asks.
"Oh, we only wear them when we can't see something far away," I say sweetly and quickly. He nods, and turns around again, his back facing us. Since he's not looking, I quickly adjust the mode from Regular Mode to Spy Mode, and I tell Maddie to do the same.
"Oh, I get it! We have to switch the mode so that we-" exclaims Maddie.
"Shhhh!!!!" I hiss through gritted teeth.
"Sorry!" grumbles Maddie.
"Remember, girls," whispers Aunt Alicia. "Use this tour to get to know the stadium better. You'll need to be able to plan out escape routes if we have to evade the manager or anyone else." Maddie and I nod in response, and I make a mental note to pay attention to everything in the stadium.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After an hour, Maddie and I have a very thorough understanding of the stadium. We know where everything is located, and the fire routes and the main rooms we'll be visiting.
Our last stop is the concert area, where 'Awake In Me' will be performing. It's a very large and open area, with so many seats I couldn't count them all (duh). There are a variety of different spotlights on the ceiling above, and the stage takes up a great amount of space.
"Sweet!" I say in awe, looking around. "This is so big!"
"Is there a door that leads to the backstage area?" asks Maddie. "Cause there's usually one behind every stage."
"Yeah, there is," replies Owen. "Come on, I'll show you." Owen leads us on to the stage, and behind the back of the stage, where all the instruments (keyboard, drums, etc) are, there is a hidden door, which blends in with the wall quite nicely. Owen opens the door, and we head down a short flight of stairs. We find ourselves at the hall at the back of the stadium again.
"The lounge should be near this area, right?" I ask.
"Correct-o," says Owen, and he leads us back to the lounge. The rest of 'Awake In Me' are still there, lounging on the couches. The manager, William Irwin, is still there, talking to my parents and Uncle Hector. Owen then motions for my parents and Uncle Hector to follow him, and the four of them leave the lounge.
"So Sierra G will be our opening act and Ernie Miller will be our half time act?" Dan asks Henry Irwin. I don't pay attention to what the answer is, but I turn to Maddie and Aunt Alicia.
"One question: What do we call the manager?" I whisper. "Henry? Henry Irwin? Mr. Irwin? Irwin? Mr. Henry Irwin? Mr-"
"We're going to call him Irwin. He prefers to be known by his surname," answers Aunt Alicia casually.
"Emilia, Olivia, we're just letting you know that Sierra G and Ernie Miller will be our opening act and half time act for the concerts on Monday and Tuesday," says Dan, turning to us.
"We're also having a rehearsal with them in an hour," adds Michael.
After whispering to Maddie and Aunt Alicia about this new piece of information, I head over to the washrooms next door. I lock myself in one of the stalls, put my Wireless headset into my ear, and I call Mom. I hear a beep, which means that Mom has answered the call.
