''Fuck my life, fuck my life, fuck my life,'' Stiles whispers under his breath while he is browsing through the books that Hermione has checked for curses. He needs to find a cure for the wolves.
He can't explain to their parents or the school how five of his classmates can't make it to class because they are turned into wolves. Real wolves. That would be a weird story to tell. So Harry, Allison, Lydia, Danny, and Hermione are also looking through the books he got from his family, but they can't find anything about the freaking bonds!
He already tried to connect to the bonds again and just think really loudly in his head, 'It would be AWESOME if my friends would be human again, really awesome, like the awesomest of awesome.'
But that hadn't helped. So books, Stiles loves books, but he doesn't like the pressure of fixing this, even if he needs to. It's his fault, after all. Fuck his life.
Derek hasn't left his side and has his head on Stiles's thigh. How Derek can be this calm while his whole pack has been wolfified is beyond Stiles. But the Alpha just seems content to be in his wolf form.
Maybe born wolves are closer to their 'wolf' than to their 'human' or something. Stiles doesn't know. He thought he knew a lot about werewolves, but he seriously doubts his intelligence right now. They have been browsing for hours.
When he called his dad to explain why he couldn't come home, his father had just sighed like he had expected something to go wrong today. And that Stiles would be in the middle of it. Which is totally uncalled for. Stiles is a delight.
Derek pokes him in the thigh and brings him back from his own thoughts.
''Sorry, dude, I'm just really stressed out at the moment. I can't even imagine what my chemosignals are doing right now.'' Stiles murmurs under his breath.
Derek nips at his hand, and Stiles finally looks up into the Alpha's eyes. He feels a wave of reassurance through the bond. Like Derek is trying to tell him that everything will be fine.
''I'm glad you think that. A couple of months ago, you would have torn out my throat with your teeth.'' Stiles jokes, making the Alpha huff in annoyance.
''Yeah, yeah, you only said it once, but it stuck with me. It was a very heavy threat for my sixteen-year-old self. And now I'm talking to a wolf. A real wolf, who can't talk back, well, I didn't think I would spiral into insanity just yet.'' Stiles says with a groan out of frustration. Making Isaac and Erica stir, they were sleeping in the middle of the room, curled around each other, while Boyd was lying awake next to them.
Jackson is lying between Danny and Lydia, his eyes are drooping too, and Peter seems to be reading over Lydia's shoulder, which is such a weird sight.
Scott is lying on Allison's legs while she is scratching behind his ear like a dog instead of her boyfriend. Stiles just tries to hold in his laughter and dog jokes.
Harry and Hermione are sitting close together, whispering to each other. And it shows that they know each other for such a long time, with only half-sentences, they seem to understand each other perfectly.
Harry looks up when he hears Stiles groan and their eyes lock. He gives Stiles a small smile like he knows how much Stiles blames himself at this moment.
''Maybe we could try the Animagus reversal spell. It is used to force an Animagus back into his human form. Remus and Sirius used it on Wormtail in the shack, remember?'' Hermione proposes.
Stiles is desperate enough to try it. And to stay clear of the bonds for the rest of his life. Even if his magic is that more awesome through it. Well, if he would know how to steer clear of it. He didn't even know he was using the bonds when casting spells.
