YOUR TOUCH
It was later in the night as you could see by how the small room was lowly lit by the fireplace, the little flame in it flickering on the last part of the wood, causing an orange atmosphere to glow onto the boys that were laying down next to it on the animal rug. They both stared at the ceiling while having a small talk, a little intoxicated because of the second cup of alcohol they had earlier.
"So, that's how I came here. I had nothing left to lose, with all those bad memories there, it was an easy decision to make." Raya mumbled and rolled his head to the side so he could look at the black haired boy.
Raya didn't really talk about his parents, but it came out so easy with Lixian. He didn't know why, but he trusted him and believed that he wouldn't judge him for what he had done in the past.
The demon frowned at the human his story. He didn't know what to think at this new information. His parents... were murdered by their family friend and Raya had ran away, leaving them behind.
"You were just six." Lixian whispered, eyes finding the other.
"Yeah..." Raya breathed out and looked back up at the ceiling to avoid eye contact. "But I left them all alone to die."
"You were just a kid, you didn't know any better." The demon argued, turning onto his side so he was facing the boy next to him.
"I could've done... something, anything. But I just ran... like the coward I am."
"Don't think like that." Lixian frowned. "You were scared, Raya. You couldn't have done anything. They were already dead before you left, if I heard your story correctly, and I'm sorry to say that, but it's true."
Raya opened his mouth to argue, but closed it again when nothing came out. He knew he was right, but it still hurts. His parents were so loving, so carefree and exactly like he wanted to be when he grew up. Slowly, after a few seconds, the corner of his mouth pulled up into a little smile. Making Lixian frown in confusion. "Why are you smiling at me like that?"
"You said my name for the first time." He mumbled with a small giggle, also rolling onto his side so he could face him better.
"So what?" Lixian huffed, but couldn't help the blush that started to cover his cheeks when he had seen that toothy grin.
They just stared at each other for a few seconds before Raya spoke up again. "How about your parents?"
Lixian averted his eyes immediately and nibbled on his lip, a nervous action that made the human frown. "Are they...—"
"Dead. Yes."
"Oh." Raya whispered and rested his cheek on his palm, the fur of the animal rug tickling his elbow.
The demon looked up at him before slowly breathing out. He was getting angry again, thinking back at that day. "Some humans killed them, actually." He confessed and reached out for the half empty cup before taking a big gulp, kind of liking the burn in his throat now.
Raya just watched the demon silently, wondering what had happened to him back then. Only not really having the guts to ask about it. "I'm sorry."
Lixian tilted his head at that, eyes softening. "Why sorry? You didn't do anything."
"I know." The human said as he looked down at the floor, fumbling with the end of his shirt. "But I just feel bad... Nobody deserves to go through such a thing. I... guess I can say I know how it feels."
A weird sensation ran through Lixian's stomach when he watched the boy before him say those words. "You're different then all the others I've met."
"Different in what?" Raya whispered with a small, shy smile.
"Humans... You're really sweet, first of all." He said and reached up to brush some hair out of his eyes, something that made Raya flush red at that unexpected gesture. "And you are smart and... gentle." And beautiful, he thought while retracing his hand.
Raya smiled at that before rolling onto his back again. "That's really sweet... thank you." He closed his eyes, the smile still plastered on his lips.
Lixian tilted his head while he lazely stared at the human, his own lips also curving into a small smile. He moved a little closer and rested his cheek onto his crossed arms before him, eyes never leaving Raya's face. He just couldn't look away. And he didn't want to.
He started to understand what this feeling he was having was about. It scared him a little, knowing he wanted him like that. A human.
But he couldn't help it.
His kind was not made for loving one another. Sure, some demons found 'the one' and family was a whole different story, but it actually didn't happen that often with finding their lover. Their mate. Maybe that's one of the reasons why there're not many of his kind left, if you don't include the war between the humans and them.
He wanted him. And he didn't know if he wanted the boy as his mate yet, but it felt so right. Being here with him.
Lixian thoughts were cut short when he felt a soft touch on his left arm. His eyes flickered to those brown ones that were already watching him and held his breath nervously. Raya stopped his finger that was slowly caressing his skin and smiled shyly. "Is this okay?"
The blushing creature didn't trust his voice at that moment, so he just nodded, eyes taking in that pretty face in front of him.
They didn't say anything after that. They just stared at one another, smiling shyly. Enjoying each others company. Lixian eventually closed his eyes, not minding the human's soft touches on his skin at all. It actually felt amazing. Relaxing. He could get used to that...
