MOVING ON
Lixian had been resting for three more days since he had woken up. But he was going to go crazy if he had to stay laying around for a second longer, so Raya and Malis had to finally let him go and move around if they wanted to stop his whining. The first thing he had done was stretch his wings. It had been a bit difficult since he was still weak, but it had felt refreshing and the thing he needed to feel alive again.
Also the face when Malis had seen them appear had been so hilarious. She had almost fainted, so shocked.
It was a slow process with healing, even though he was a demon and healed quicker then humans did, his wounds were still pretty sensitive. Raya's burns were doing pretty well, though they were still fresh and painful as ever. But they were getting there.
The town also got word of what happened to the three man by now. Since they went missing for more then a week, people started looking for them and found out. Nobody knew what exactly had happened, only that two grown man were attacked and that one burned to death. Everybody since then had been looking for Raya because they found them at his house, of course. They were hoping to get some answers, or even revenge since some believed in their own stories where they pictured Raya as the bad guy.
It was a weird time for the poor young man. He loved this town like his own home and to see them all angry and ready to judge him for something he would never ever do on purpose, was hard...
"I think we need to go south, to the town that's located there." Raya thought out loud.
"Well I think it's better if you move further away." Malis mumbled, her focus on some plants she was watering. "That town isn't that far, they will find you there easily."
"I guess you're right." Raya hummed sadly, not really fond of moving far away from where he had build his home and friends. "What do you think Lixian?"
The demon turned his head from his place on the ground to the two by the table and hummed in thought. "Malis is right, we should go further north maybe. I'm sure there are some houses available there or places to stay at least."
"I suppose." Raya answered, eyes averting to the ground gloomily. Everything about this just sucked.
Lixian sighed by seeing his mate so upset. "Come here, you." He commanded softly, sitting up slowly so he cold hold him close and comfort him a little.
Raya displayed that gorgeous smile the demon so adored and stood up to make his way over. He sat down besides Lixian, but was quickly pulled over the demon's lap. He yelped at the sudden force and held onto Lixian's shoulders to steady himself, sending a playful glare his way.
Lixian chuckled and pulled him closer so he had to look up at Raya, his eyes watching the brown once flicker between his expectedly, curious of what he would do next.
"Everything will come together in the end eventually, so please stop pouting. I will make sure we are going to have a beautiful house somewhere, with a big garden and lots of books for you to read, and for you to help me read." He hummed with a goofy smile, lips nipping at Raya's skin soothingly. "With a beautiful view and nature all around us, just the two of us all alone. How does that sound?"
Raya smiled at his words, his cold hands cupping the demon's cheeks to lead his lips away from his skin and to his own. He pecked him gently, nuzzling his nose with his as he hummed softly. "Sounds... perfect." He breathed out, eyes twinkling happily as Lixian beamed back up at him.
"You two lovebirds are making me sick." Malis groaned out with exaggeration, making gag noises only for Lixian to turn back Raya's face to kiss him passionately in despise. The older's breath taken away in a heartbeat as he hummed in surprise, his lips answering the plump ones devouring him in front of his friend's eyes.
"I'm so lonely." Malis breathed out sadly at that, earning giggles and heartfelt chuckles from the two mates instantly.
"But, whatever you two will do, I do expect you to keep contact with me." She grinned, sitting down at the table.
"Of course, Malis." Raya huffed out, turning around slightly to lock eyes again. "You're my friend."
"Your only friend, to be exact."
"Do not see why you had to point that out, but whatever." Raya mumbled with a slight glare.
She chuckled, her palm holding her head up as she sighed. "I'm going to miss you. You're, like, to only person who's fun around here."
"Maybe you should move with us? See what takes your interest and catches your eyes?" Raya suggested, all perking up at his own idea.
Malis smiled sweetly at her friend. "It's more complicated for me, you know that. With my family's business and all, I still need to talk with them on what they are planning on doing and if I'm actually taking over."
Raya's smile turned into a pout as he nodded, quickly slumping down again at her words. "Right."
Lixian rubbed the older's back soothingly, watching to two friends interact with curious eyes. He had been a bit wary with her at first, but he quickly found out he had nothing to worry for and that Raya and her were good friends. It was fun seeing them bicker around, but he did get a bit jealous at times. Though Raya would always slap his arm or peck his lips when he noticed.
But he had to be honest. Even if she irritated him sometimes, he was going to miss her just a little bit.
"Right, well I'm going to bed. I'll be leaving you two for the day, see you tomorrow." Malis sighed, pushing herself up from the chair to do just that.
"Good night." Raya hummed, leaning more into Lixian's embrace as his eyes watched her exit the room. His thoughts quickly turning back to where and how they were going to move on. He was scared and unsure, but as long as he was with Lixian, he knew it would be alright.
"Let's sleep too, I'm butchered." Lixian sighed shortly after, kissing his hair lightly.
"Sounds good."
