Pov Sugawara

It seems that Shimizu is starting to like being part of the volleyball club. Daichi and Asahi haven't left her alone since she became the new manager. Especially Asahi. They are both responsible, but I think they have a problem when they like a girl.

Also, Shimizu seems as happy as ever. Apart from her emotionless face, she seems to have been laughing quite a lot recently. Today Friday we don't have practice, although I am 98% sure Daichi and Asahi are going to drag me for another practice. I think they want to kill me. First, I have a dwarf jumping on top of me all day and now I have those two, which the only thing they can say is practice. In the other hand, for some reason I like spending my time with them.

"Sugaaaaaaaa!!" Daichi and Asahi came up to me. "Yes?" "Could you set for us?" "We know there is no practice today so it will only be for an hour." "Okay." I sighed. "Just don't overwork yourselves." "How could we overwork ourselves?" "Well, there is always time for everything. And one important part of every sport no matter how easy it is, is to always be able to rest from it for some time. If you do not do so your muscles will start aching and it will take longer to recover."

"How did you know that?" "How did you two not know that?" They looked down at me with accepting looks. "Your right." "But we have a whole weekend to not practice so lets work hard." They never learn. Come on Suga only for a few hours, then you can return to your loneliness and start playing.

"Nice kill Asahi." I said when he just hit the ball as hard as he could. The ball reached the second floor of the gym. "Nice kill?" "You don't say that? It's when you hit the ball so hard no one can stop it." "It sounds cool."

"Hey, Suga, I have a question." Daichi came up to us. "What is it, Daichi?" "Well, we have been in the same team for only around one month. And in all that time I've never seen you strike a ball or make a faint." Now that you mention it Daichi. I have realised too." Asahi looked as if he knew the question already. I can't see myself right now but I can say for sure I look like a mouse, who has just seen two cats in front of them. "Continuing. Do you know how to strike a ball?"

Perfect. He said it. What do I do now? If I say the truth how would they act. How would they act if I didn't say the truth? Shit. "Suga, if it is because you don't know how to jump high enough or something like that, we can help." "We will not be judging at your answer. Promise." Really. I'm not buying. But at the same time how could they trust me if I don't say the truth. Okay semi-truth then.

"The truth is I'm a bit scared to strike. Just the idea of losing a point because of me just sends shivers down my spine." They looked kind of surprised. "What?" "You are serious about that Suga?" "Yes. Why do you look so surprised Asahi?" "It's because I thought I was the scaredy cat out of the three." And I can't believe he actually said that. "Well, Suga what Asahi wants to say is that you never seemed like the type that would be scared of striking."

They actually thought that. I can't believe them. I mean. I'm scared of pretty much everything. They didn't even realise. I don't know if that is sweet or painful. "You guys didn't realised?" "No not really." "But what are you scared of, Suga?" "Well, I'm a bit of a coward. I might get scared of the volleyball hitting my face and thinking everything is my fault. But the thing I'm scared of the most is taller people." "How didn't you ever tell us that?" "I thought it was quite obvious."

After that, the two of them decided to drop out the conversation. We went on for another hour and went home. It is 6pm I hope they haven't started without me.

Pov Daichi

I've been asking myself that question since we first met. Asahi and I became friends in an instant, but it took Suga much longer to start fitting in. He is kind and caring, but for some reason he has trouble when talking to us. Maybe we simply scared him. Although, I never realised he feared so many things. There must be something behind all of this.

"Daichi. Earth talking to Daichi. Are you there?" Asahi knocked my head as if it was a door.

"Yeah I'm here. I kind of drifted in my own thoughts." "That is normal. Are you in love?" "No, why?" "You realise you're as red as a tomato." "Okay, okay. Yes I am." "Who? Who?" I can't believe Asahi realised that. But if I tell him he'll tell her. "Do you promise not telling anyone?" "Not even Suga?"

"You can tell Suga." "Okay then. I promise." "I'm in love with a girl in Suga's class. Her name is Michimiya Yui." "Oh my God. You are going to date the future captain of the female volleyball club." "Wait. What? How did you even know she is in the girls volleyball club?" "Daichi, Daichi, Daichi. Did you not even realise I'm Jesus?" We burst out laughing. It's true he looks a bit like Jesus. "No, the real thing is. One of the players at the club is in my class and she said Michimiya-san will probably be the captain of the girls team when we are third years."

Asahi sure knows more things than I do. At this rate he'll sure become Jesus.

"Hey Daichi." Mhm. "Well. What is your opinion on Suga?" What kind of question is that? "I think, he is quite nice and caring. Although, I think he doesn't notice that." "I agree completely with you."

"I have an idea." "What idea? And for what?" "For getting to know Suga." "I'm listening." "Our end of term exams is in two months. What if we ask Suga to help us study? Then we give an excuse saying we can't study at our houses." "That is an amazing idea. But the exams are in two months." "Then we will ask in a month." "Sure."
