Chapter Thirteen

Does anyone else think he looks kinda like a Kpop idol with that spiky blue hair and white bandanna and golden earrings? (I was so disappointed when he lost the earrings during the fight scenes)

Aramina's POV

So my family in Lukedonia allowed me to return to Korea and I couldn't have been happier, especially because Regis oppa and Seira unnie came back with us too. Something about how they had to stay in the human world a while longer for Regis oppa's preparation before his coming-of-age ceremony or something like that, but at least they came back with us. Our home felt as normal and amazing as before, with my other oppas and unnies visiting almost every other day for games and snacks. Of course, after seeing how things had gone down before, I had also already been expecting something weird to happen and that weird thing happened not long after we returned from Lukedonia.

That weird thing was called the KSA.

Don't ask me the full form. The adults of the house still barely told me anything important. What they did tell me about the KSA though was that it was Korea's special governmental organization which was affiliated to the Union, because all countries in the world were required to have a special governmental organization affiliated to the Union even though I didn't understand what was so scary about the Union that all the countries actually listened to them, and that these governmental organizations were not allowed to make modified humans like the Union without the Union's permission. But the Union rarely ever gave permission to these organizations, yet the KSA still illegally made some modified humans and two of them came to Ye Ran in the guise of government agents who were trying to scout out young high school students to work as government officials. In reality, they were just targeting two students in particular to apparently recruit them to the government and then just modify their bodies to make them work for the KSA, or indirectly for the Union.

And who were those two students? Shinwoo oppa and Ik-Han oppa.

Of course it had to be them. It always had to be people close to me who kept getting caught up in messes like this. I mean, I knew very well just how strong Shinwoo oppa was when it came to fighting skills or how incredible Ik-Han oppa was when it came to being a technology wiz. I'd seen Shinwoo oppa in action on the streets several times, and I'd seen both him and Ik-Han oppa in action when they'd helped the crew at Suyi unnie's photo shoot sort out some problems. But it wasn't their fault that they were born with talents like that! So it wasn't their fault that they captured the attention of an organization linked to the Union.

Personally though, I thought it would be pretty cool to work in an organization like that but only if it wasn't working for something like the Union. However, everyone else in the house had not at all been pleased when I told them this. Daddy had quietly explained that that life was nowhere near the cool action movie I was thinking it to be, which was why he and everyone else were working so hard to make sure that the KSA wasn't able to recruit Shinwoo oppa and Ik-Han oppa. It would seemingly destroy their good and innocent lives, whatever that meant. I didn't really find the KSA agents who had come to Ye Ran to be all that threatening. They had initially introduced themselves to Daddy as normal government agents who wanted his help to go undercover at the school as teachers so that the students won't change their regular behaviour on discovering that they were being observed by government agents, and Daddy cooperated with them but strictly instructed me to keep quiet about how he and everyone else was aware of the KSA. Still, I didn't find the two agents, Ahn Sangin and Na Yeonsu, to be all that threatening. They bore the standard aura of modified humans, but nothing more than that. Ms. Yeonsu had even bought me a small chocolate during lunch one day and I'd heard her whisper something about how she'd love to have a daughter like me, it it were at all possible. So, yes, I thought they were nice.
