There had been something off about the bird splatting itself on Odette's window. It had many options in the back and front but it had chosen to die right there, on her window.
"You don't think it was a coincidence." George knew her so well.
"Not at all, no." But before they could continue with their conspiracies, Fred and Lee intercepted, telling them to stop because a dead bird did not mean anything in particular, or anything at all.
Resting her head back on George's shoulder, she fell asleep.

Falling asleep on a train cart full of Weasleys and a Jordan was never a good idea and it was not a mistake Odette would ever be repeating. She was woken up by the sound of boyish giggles.
After Lee saw that she was awake he said, "Finally decided to rise, did you?" Again, they giggled.
"Bringing the light into our world?" George said and Fred nearly hollered. Knowing all to well they were up to something, she pushed off George and looked at herself on the train window. Her face was covered in yellow paint and traces of it had gotten on her blouse. Her beautiful, white blouse.
"I really fucking hate you guys." She said, using her sleeves to wipe her face because the blouse was ruined anyway. "Where in the world did you even get the paint?"

"Oh come on. You can fall asleep within a second, it was really not that hard to plan." Said Fred.
"Don't you wanna brighten up our world?" Snickered Lee.
"Someone in first grade could come up with that joke." She scoffed and when she saw the confused looks in their faces she described what a muggle first grade was. She had been to one herself. They stared in amazement. "Now go get me a towel."
"Why me?"
"Because if you don't your world will only get darker from here on out."
Lee groaned, leaving the compartment to go find a towel for her. Caspian entered the moment he left.
"Now who poured mustard all over your face?"
"I'll make yours pour ketchup out if you don't shut your mouth."
"Aren't you just a peach!"
Odette smiled softly.

Caspian was asking if the boys were seeing anyone. Odette knew all too well the name of every girl interested in either of the twins, because she was nothing if not a know-it-all. Also because they told her about everything. She listened a little too attentively at George whenever he answered, but she could not figure out why she was so interested in hearing his responses.
"And it's not just girls!" She said when Caspian asked if anyone likes them.
"No." He laughed.
"Contrary to what Fred says, these two have not gone out with any of them.
"Why's that?"
"Fred's too infatuated with Angelina. We all know Fred so shut up. And as for George, well, he wants his mystery girl. And I think it's very unfair thay Fred knows, Lee's right." And with a quick shake of her head she warned, "Don't tell Lee I just said that."

"Where is he anyway?" George changed the topic, much to Odette's disappointment. Ever since he had mentioned her, Odette had felt great discomfort. Perhaps she wanted to know which girl had taken her best friend's heart, so she could make sure it would not be broken. She hoped that was the reason, anyway. She did not dare to let her mind wander in search of another reason.
She offered to go look for him, because if he was getting his ass kicked somewhere it was her fault for making him go out anyway. Hoping to not have to cross Slytherin compartments, she opened the door of the girls to ask them if they'd seen him. Much to her joy, he was in there.

"Help...me." He said, revealing himself from behind Angelina, with the most ridiculous looking make up on his face anyone had ever seen. "I was dragged in here, looking for your damn towel, and this is what they did to me!"
"Hey, you both look like clowns!" Angelina laughed.
"No we don't. I'm the sun." Odette smiled, pecking all the girls' cheeks, dyeing them yellow.
Then she decided to chase Lee for having colored her face after she used the towel he'd brought for her to clean it. Unfortunately she ran into a tall brunette haired wall.
He pulled her into the compartment and started apologising. Odette shushed Cedric up, telling him that they had already gone over this, that she had forgiven him.
He would not stop, so she thought of the only plausible thing to do.

She kissed him.

______________

They walked out of the station and Odette was looking for the Dursleys, and as always, they were on time. For some reason or another they were always on time to pick Detta up.
It could've simply been the fact that Dumbledore needed Petunia near the two all the time or possibly that if the Dursleys didn't show up, a witch or wizard would have to escort them to 4 Privet Drive and that terrified them.
They both got in the car and it was dead quiet. No one was talking as if they'd just argued. That went on until Dudley started begging his mother to get him candy. Problem was, they wouldn't get Harry or Detta any, but Odette didn't mind because she had her secret stash in the room they shared.
They soon got back home and the two of them immediately ran upstairs to their room. They could finally laugh and all without being yelled at from their uncle. They sat on Detta's bed looking at a photo album Hagrid had given them. There were a lot of photos of their parents with their friends. Odette loved looking at that album and had probably had seen the photos in it over 100 times. But she loved sharing them with her brother. Soon enough, she got tired and fell asleep, when Harry noticed that he moved over to his bed falling asleep too.
