Realising Petunia and Vernon probably could not care less if one of them got hurt, Odette and Harry started spending their time by a playground close to the house. Harry was on one of the swings when Dudley chose to be a snob. After a short argument without Odette's involvement, Harry got rid of him. Odette spent her nights lingering in the thoughts of her friends, her family. Her heart thundered with sadness and longing for people who were not her own blood, but were her own either way.
"Can I ask you something?" Harry said.
"Of course. Anything."
"I've seemed to catch on the fact that people think only I defeated Voldemort. Even though it was you who truly ended him."
Odette sighed, "Being Odette Potter in the Dursley's home was like a chore. You don't want to do it, but you have to. Then Hagrid showed up at my door and I was bestowed upon Hogwarts. Suddenly being Odette Potter was not a bad thing, but it was excruciating. So, upon arriving there, I reached out to Dumbledore and asked to have my scar hidden. I didn't want to burden you with it and now realize that I should not have, but I was eleven and I was scared of what they'd think of me."
Despite having burdened Harry, he said it was all right, that she was already doing enough for the both of them.
At dinner time they were ordered to stay upstairs because the Dursleys had guests coming over that evening. Odette and Harry would undoubtedly end up eating their leftovers if they left any, even though they had made the food. Vernon had told the guests that they went to St. Brutus's Secure Center for Incurably Criminal Children. Odette wasn't bothered by it, partly because she didn't want to give Vernon the statisfaction, and partly because she had guessed that he was going to do that.
"Did he have to do that?" Harry groaned.
"So they stop asking where we are, yes." Detta shrugged.
"But did he really and I mean really have to choose that place?"
"It's Vernon, Harry. Did you expect better from him?"
Harry sighed, fidgeting with his hands.
"Odette!" Vernon's voice almost shook the entire house. Odette and Harry looked at each other. Please go. Odette's eyes pleaded with him.
No way. He called you. "Odette!" Vernon shouted again and Harry raised his brows. Odette groaned, getting out of bed. She descended the stairs, taking a deep breath before responding.
"Yes, Vernon?"
"Uncle Vernon."
"Yes, uncle Vernon?"
"Stop that stomping, will you?"
"What stomping?"
He gripped her arm tight, making her wince in pain. "Don't play around with me, girl. Stop that stomping."
Odette held her arm all the way up. She walked back upstairs only to find Harry staring at this creature that was jumping on his bed.
"What the-" Odette said looking at the thing.
"Odette and Harry Potter." It stopped jumping and stared at the two. "Such an honor it is." He bowed.
"Who are you?" Harry asked as Odette quickly closed the door behind them.
"Dobby, sir." The creature responded. "Dobby the house elf." It smiled at them.
"Not to be rude or anything, but this isn't a great time for us to have a house elf in our bedroom." Harry said.
"Oh, yes sir, Dobby understands."
"Why are you speaking in third person?" Odette asked but Dobby ignored the question moving on with what he had to say.
"It's just that Dobby has come to tell you. It is, difficult, sir. Dobby wonders, where to begin?"
"Why don't you sit down?" Harry asked.
"S-sit down?" Dobby stuttered dramatically sobbing.
"Dobby, shush, I'm sorry." Harry tried calming him down. "I didn't mean to offend you."
"Offend Dobby?" He turned around. "Dobby has heard of your greatness sir, but never has he been asked to sit down by a wizard. Like an equal..."
"You can't have met many decent wizards, then." Odette spoke up.
"Oh, I haven't." He chuckled immediately stopping. "That was an awful thing to say." He said grabbing the dresser and hitting his had on it. "Bad Dobby! Bad!"
"Dobby, stop!" The two tried calming it down before Vernon came in and hell broke loose.
"Please be quiet!" Odette said as Dobby let go of the dresser. "Finally." She sighed.
"Are you alright?" Harry asked.
"Dobby had to punish himself, sir. Dobby almost spoke ill of his family sir."
"Your family?" Odette asked.
"The wizard family Dobby serves, miss." He said. "Dobby is bound to serve one family forever. If they ever knew Dobby was here, but Dobby had to come. Dobby has to protect Harry and Odette Potter. To warn them, they must not go back to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry this year."
"Why?" Odette asked.
"There is a plot." He sighed. "A plot to make most terrible things happen."
"What terrible things?" Harry asked. "Who's plotting them?"
"He. Can't. Say." Dobby grunted. "Don't. Make. Me."
"Okay we understand, you can't say." Odette tried shushing him but as usual, no use. He started hitting himself with a lamp.
"Dobby, please." Harry begged for him to stop.
"Give me the lamp!" Odette said trying to take the lamp away from him but he wouldn't let go. They heard steps on the stairs and turned to the door terrified.
Harry took the lamp from Dobby and carried him in to the closet and he closed the door. "Keep quiet." He closed the door shut.
At that very moment Odette got up and rested her shoulder on the dresser so Dobby wouldn't open it. Soon enough an angry Vernon opened the door and stared at the two who quite frankly, were acting suspicious.
"What the devil are you doing up here!?" He asked.
"We- we were just-" Harry stuttered.
"You just ruined the punchline of my japanese golfer joke." He said. Odette was slightly thankful for that, as the joke would have probably ended up being something they could use in a documentary of showcasing the most evil people on earth.
"Sorry." Odette said closing the door of the closet as Dobby tried opening it.
"One more sound and you wish you were never born." He threatened them.
"I already wish that what else you got?" Detta said.
"Shut up. And fix that door." He said.
"Yes, sir." Harry nodded as Vernon left.
Harry opened the door for Dobby as he said "See why we've got to go back? We don't belong here!"
"We belong in your world. At Hogwarts." Detta said. "With our friends."
"Friends who don't even write to Odette and Harry Potter?" Dobby asked.
"Well I expect they've-" Harry stopped mid sentence. "Hang on, how do you know my friends haven't been writing to me?"
"Harry Potter mustn't be angry with Dobby." He said as he backed away. "Dobby hoped if Harry Potter thought his friends had forgotten him, Harry Potter might not want to go back to school."
"Say what now?" Dette asked. "You stole our letters?"
"For your safety, miss." Dobby answered.
"Give me those. Now." Harry said.
"No!" Dobby said hiding the letters in his cloth and ran out as Harry followed him.
"Shit-" Detta said following behind.
They quickly got down the stairs and stopped at the kitchen door (Where they all were staying). Dobby stared at the cake with a devilish smirk.
"Dobby get back here!" Detta whispered. Dobby snapped his fingers and the cake was lifted from the plate.
"Dobby... please no." Harry said.
"Harry and Odette must promise they won't go back to Hogwarts." Dobby said.
"I can't. Hogwarts is my home!" Harry said.
"Oh my god this stupid child." Odette shook her head. "You could have easily lied."
"Then Dobby must do it sir. For Harry Potter's own good?" Dobby snapped his fingers once more and the cake started moving towards the guests.
"No!" Harry walked forward hitting Dobby in the face.
"Oh my god no wonder you're not in Ravenclaw." Odette hit herself on the head. "How are we even related?" She sighed while Harry walked towards the cake with his hands forward.
Petunia and Vernon noticed the cake as it flew over the lady's head. It fell on top of her right when Harry was about to catch it.
"It's my nephew!" Vernon cried. "He's very disturbed. Meeting strangers upsets him, that's why I kept him upstairs." He said as Dobby disappeared.
"And we've got hell." Odette sighed sitting on the stairs.
The guests later left and Vernon was furious. He took both of them upstairs and got outside drilling bars on their window.
"You'll never see those freaky friends of yours again. Never!" Vernon smirked.
