Hello lovely readers! so, did you all read the last authors note? Yes? okay, you can read this part. No? Okay, see the last authors note before reading this part! Please! (also, just pretend you don't know what happened in the last few chapters of the before changed story.)
Y/N P.O.V.
My eyes fluttered open to the bright sunlight that was creeping through the cracks in the metal. I sat up and untangled my earbuds from my crazy long brown hair. I wrapped them up and set them in the sand along with my small iPod that they were connected to. I was in a sweat shirt and my old tattered jeans from yesterday. I poked my head out of the biggest opening that I entered and left through to make sure that there was no one around. There never was, but I always checked anyways, just to make sure. I tended to be an overly cautious person, I swear that's how I was still alive.
I didn't know the exact time, but the sun had been rising around 6 in the morning lately. I saw that is was still low, lingering just above the horizon of the blue ocean; so it had just risen. I went back inside my little space and pulled out my favorite oversized forest green sweatshirt, my favorite forest green sleeveless tank top, and the pair of jeans that were my best ones. They were still about 5 inches too short, this was due to my height, I was 5 feet 9 inches as of about 6 months ago. I had had these jeans for about 3 years, I had my grand total of four for these three years. I had two sweatshirts, 4 tank tops, 4 pairs of old jeans, 4 pairs of underwear, 3 sports bras, and 2 pairs of socks. I kept my whole wardrobe in a backpack along with a few other things. I had a sketch book, a pencil, my iPod and earbuds, a few power reserve-things that I charged up about once a week to keep a charge on my iPod, hairties, a tooth brush, toothpaste, a decently large pocket knife, and a water bottle. I also had a separate backpack I used for school, it still had a few supplies in it. I went to a really crappy middle school, it was in a crapy place with crappy people who occupied it. There were always scrapes and fights going on, and the teachers just didn't care, and I was often one in these fights. Because of the school's status, there weren't uniforms either. I brought my head back inside after admiring the sun for a few minutes and started to change. I pulled off my few days old clothes and put on my clean-ish jeans that I had pulled out. I was in my sports bra as I fished for a clean one in my bag and finally found one at the bottom. I changed into the clean one as quickly as I could, which isn't the easiest when you have giant lustrous crow wings. But, I had become decently skilled at it. I then pulled on my tanktop, I had cut two slits in all my tanktops and hoodies for my wings. My wings emerged from my back at the inner edges of my shoulder blades. Sports bras worked really well with this because they were always racer-back, where the straps joined went right in between my wings. Also, when you're on the streets, it helps to look as small as you can. I then pulled on my forest green sweatshirt I'd taken out earlier as well. I carefully tried to align my wings with the holes, but it didn't work too well, it never did. I have no Idea why I even tried anymore. I grabbed the tips of them and yanked them through the holes.
Now fully clothed in clean clothes, I actually got my socks and shoes out. Normally I didn't bother with socks, and when I was just gonna wander the beach, I didn't bother with shoes even. I pulled my black socks on, then my extremely faded and dirty pale blue high-top converse. I tightened all the loops of laces to that they were as tight as they could be without cutting off circulation. I then moved on to my hair. I tried to comb it out with my fingers the best I could, but when the just got stuck I gave up. As usual. I gathered it up and twisted it on itself and got it into a bun-like lump on the back of my head as I wrapped it all up with a hair tie.
It was the UA entrance exams, so I wanted to look as presentable as possible, which when you have my living situation, wasn't easy. At least I had a clean pair of clothes, and could brush my teeth using the water that was in my water bottle. It could be way worse, and for that I was satisfied with my looks. If I did get in, my class would see me worse than this. That was also why I didn't necessarily want to make a 'good' impression, then when they just saw me worse things could get tough.
Well, who cares, it's as good as it's gonna get. I thought to myself as I brushed my teeth.
I rinsed out my mouth with some water before I finished getting ready to leave. Honestly, I didn't know what I needed to bring. So I decided to grab only the things I always carried on me: My large pocket knife, my iPod, my earbuds, and one of those power reserve things I mentioned earlier. I shoved it all into my hoodie pocket before I decided to grab my water bottle, I really didn't get to fill it up often, maybe once per day if I was lucky, so I figured why not bring it because If I get a chance I'll fill it for the day. I shoved that too into my pocket before stepping over the about knee-high piece of metal that blocked the biggest hole. I also had to duck down to be under the other sheet that bent over and that acted as a roof. the other 'walls' were just a bunch of other sheets that created a patchwork shelter. Now out side, standing on more trash, I stretched out, I bent backwards until several joints in my spine popped, I stretched my arms upwards too, causing my shoulders to pop. Then I spread my wings out as far as they'd go.
"Mmmm, that sand is killing my body," I mumbled to myself. Then I started walking down the trash covered beach, It used to be so pretty down here. But I can't really complain because if it didn't get treated like a land fill, I wouldn't have a place to sleep that I felt secure in. Not all the beach was like that anymore though. A vast amount of it had been completely cleared.
A/N: HEYYYYYY, so, that's the first chapter! hope you guys like it! As said, It's starting a bit further back. But you are still in the same place and such. HAHA, stay tuned for the next chapter, it will contain the entrance exams! -Your crazy train-wrecked author!
P.S. also, I haven't super gone back and edited this chapter, I really don't plan to, but if there's any misspelt words and such, just interpret it to a word that would make sense.
