EDITED

Alyssa's POV

I loved staying at Tori's. I felt safe and secure, like nobody could get to me. Like, Matt...again. But there came a time when I had to go home, even though there was nothing to actually go home to.

I had a feeling that Matt actually forgot about me when I stepped foot in my house three days after I escaped from him. I was nothing good so there was no reason to why he would try capturing me again.

I shut the door behind me and breathed in a scent of the house. A strong smell of old walls and a hint of spearmint. My house never actually felt like my home. I don't have a place I could actually call my home.

My mothers car wasn't in the driveway so I wasn't surprised when I didn't find her around the house anywhere. Tori made sure to text we that I was staying with her for a couple days the morning after I got there.

I sigh as I lay on my bed and grab my phone from my beside table. God, I missed it so much. I turn it on and type in my password.

Seeing I have five messages, I go through them.

From Bestie Tori:

Be safe, babe. Call me if you need me.

I send her a message back.

To Bestie Tori:

Thank you and I will!

I check through my other messages to find one from my mom, one from my partner in history class, one from Chase (the party goer in the whole Junior class), and one from Austin (A sorta friend in Advanced Chemistry).

From Mother:

Hope you are having fun. I will be home Thursday.

Really? That's in six days. Why the actual fudge?

From Makenzie:

I finished the rest of the project. I think we did really well on it!

To Makenzie:

That's amazing and I think we did too.

From Chase:

Party tomorrow night at 8. Hope to see you. Xx

I roll my eyes. Chase also happens to be the biggest flirt of the whole school. I can't name one girl he hasn't flirted with.

To Chase:

Yeah, I'll definitely come, just as long as you have the vodka.

I was kidding, but he obviously didn't think that when I got a text back from him a couple seconds later, telling me he had all kinds of alcoholic beverages. Doesn't surprise me. I've never been one to completely drink my ass off, but I'll have a couple cups, or maybe sometimes go overboard. But I rarely go overboard.

While I was staying with Tori, she let me borrow her clothes so I could still go to school. No chance I wanted to screw over my good attendance. Although, me and Tori did kinda skip today to have another girls' night. I love girls' night because I always feel free and like myself.

Austin told me about the party Chase is holding tomorrow and I replied with a simple "Okay".

For real, how many people usually hold a party on a Saturday night? I didn't think very many.

I check all my social media apps to find 44 friend requests, 15 messages, and 106 notifications on Favebook; 73 likes, 5 dms, and 49 new more followers on Instagram; and 21 snaps on Snapchat. Wow. Since when did I ever seem so popular. Usually it was up to 10 of each. I'm shocked.

As I look through my messages on Messenger and Instagram, I notice that many of them are from new people I don't even know (probably fuckboys looking for someone else to talk to because they love to make one girl feel special, blow them off, move on to another girl, and repeat over and over again). I simply reply to all the "Hey you're beautiful :)"s and "Hi gorgeous"s. I roll my eyes. If they would see me in person, they would think otherwise. I just take really good photos.

I sigh as I shut my phone off and lay it on my chest. I close my eyes, tired from everything that's been going on lately.

I begin to think about Matt even though I don't want to. What was his reaction when he found out I left? Will he come after me again? Should I be worried?

I fall asleep with crazy thoughts swarming through my head.

It felt all too real and familiar when I woke close to the beginning of the night with a cloth over my mouth. Tears automatically fall out of my eyes because I know who it is already.

"Hello, sweetheart. Glad to see you again." All I see is Matt's evil smirk before I drift into unconsciousness again like last time.

I woke up in a car in the back seat, handcuffed to the middle seat with an Asian guy sitting to my right. He has his earbuds in and is scrolling through his phone.

My mouth is tapped shut and my head is pounding, a headache well making itself clear

I mumble against the tape as I look out the window to see Matts unluckily familiar house again. I kick in the seat and the Asian looks at me, taking his earbuds out.

"Look who's up," he smirks and I roll my eyes.

"Well help me get her out, Carter. We're here," Matt says from up front, putting the car in park. Carter, huh? Kinda suits him.

They bring me inside with no struggle from me since I'm exhausted and put me on the couch. Nobody said one word, but Matt did take the tape off my mouth and the cuffs off my wrists. He didn't scream at me or seem angry like I expected.

I'm confused..?
