Mitsuri was more gentle towards you than Mitsuo. Perhaps maybe because she saw and felt what you went through all this time in the prison, which happens to be your old home. She taught you everything that you were to do at the bakery. She explained to you how money is a big deal in this world and you basically cannot survive without it.
Yes, you were taught to read and write in prison while you were young. But, you were not given any specific knowledge about how the outside world works. The things you were taught was very limited and specific. Well, you were glad that you'll be a help to the twins though. Since you already knew how to read and write reading labels and pricing on the bakery items were not a big deal.
Mitsuri told you that you just have to take guests orders and give them the food they demand while Mitsuo will collect money from them. She explained that usually, Mitsuo deals with both the service and billing counter but now that you are here, he'll just have to deal with the billing counter and you on the service counter. Mitsuri deals with the kitchen if there's any guest demand which needs preparations in the kitchen, she would take that role.
"Karen, remember we don't have any quirks while we work here," Mitsuri explained.
"But, why?" You asked.
"Because we would like to keep a low profile. People won't suspect us as villains if we come out to them as quirkless," She explained. You nodded. Telling you this she went into the kitchen leaving you alone to deal with your service counter. You took a look at all the bread, pastries and various bakery items displayed on your counter. No customer was there yet but slowly the bakery shop started to fill up.
Few hours passed by, you were working well for a beginner. At least that's what Mitsuri said when she came to check up on you. You made a few mistakes while serving the customers but Mitsuo immediately covered it up and apologized to the customers since you were just a trainee in this job yet.
The door of the bakery opened and a familiar green-haired boy appeared with a small soft smile on his face. When you looked at him you immediately recognized him.
"Hello, Mitsuo," He greeted Mitsuo. You saw Mitsuo's face, he had a small smile on his face. A fake one of course, not that you or Izuku Midoriya who is known as 'no. 1 pro hero Deku' could figure out.
"Hello, no. 1 pro hero Deku," He greeted. You could see few people who were still in the bakery were taking the pro hero's photos. But, what you couldn't pinpoint out was, how does Mitsuo know Deku.
"Just call me Deku, Mitsuo and I'll take my regulars," He said. Mitsuo nodded, a still fake smile plastered on his face.
"Karen, please pack croissants with fresh fruits and Nutella filling for our pro hero," Mitsuo said and you nodded. Izuku's attention diverted towards you.
"Hey! I know you! We met at the beach earlier when that villain attacked the beach," Izuku said as he walked up to you. It took you by surprise when he approached you.
"Y-yeah," You said. There goes your stuttering again. You weren't getting used to talking to people.
"Nice to meet you again, Karen," He said with a smile. You looked at him surprised when he said your name.
'Could he read minds like Mitsuri too? Is that how he knows my name? Does he know I killed someone?' You thought. Your body was shaking with slight fear.
"H-how do you know my name?" You asked gutting up.
"Oh! Mitsuo just said your name a few seconds ago," Izuku said. You finally felt a bit relaxed now.
"Huh?! What's taking you so long, Deku?!" The angry blonde guy appeared opening the door, making a loud entrance.
