Matrise and I were absolutely buzzed off the blueberry puff bar when I asked if he wants to go play on the playground.

Of course, Matrise said yes

Of course, Matrise said yes.

"Wanna play groundies?" I ask

"With just 2 of us?" Matrise questions.

"Uh, yeah, why not."

"I guess." Matrise shrugs.

Matrise counts first but ends up tagging me a few minutes later when I was trying to slide down the fireman pole.

I sigh walk a few steps away from the playground and start counting. "2, 10, groundies." I shout. I chase Matrise from one side of the structure to the other. Once I realize he's actually quite fast I decide to just send it. I close my eyes and carefully climb onto the playground equipment. I can sort of hear the direction Matrise is walking in, but he's being sneaky. I continue walking carefully. I don't want to get injured.

I make an "oof" sound and my eyes fly open to see Matrise is sitting in the middle of the twisty side with me.

"Hey!" I exclaim. He giggles and our eyes lock. Suddenly, everything becomes serious. We are so close. Our legs are in a tangled mess from running into each other and his hands are also gripping my shoulders. I inhale. Matrise relaxes his grip on my shoulder and slides his hands so one is holding my face and the other is on my chest. I stare deep into his cerulean blue eyes and give him a slight nod of consent. With that, Matrise kisses me in the middle of the twisty slide.

The whole world is still

The whole world is still. Urban legend has it that time freezes when gay people kiss.

We both pull away at the same time and giggle.

"Kissing is so funny," Matrise says

"Hehe," I say and then push Matrise down the slide.

We pick up our stuff and head back to my car and I drive us back to school. Walking into my 4th-hour team sports class with 1 thought in my head...
