It had been six months since the final war with the titans. Many wounds have healed, but the mental scars still remained.

Even with the new campers and smiling faces of kids, a deep darkness seemed to loom over the camp.

I laid on my bed in the Apollo cabin, staring at the golden ceiling. Will was most likely with his boyfriend, and my siblings were out at their activities, leaving me alone in the cabin.

The lingering shadows of war seemed to affect me most. Seeing as I was a daughter of Apollo, it could sense the intruding presence. So unnatural to that of my father.

The wars had hit many campers hard. Those that lived to survive both were left with wounds no amount of nectar or ambrosia could heal. There were so many I could have saved, if only if I had gotten their on time.

I was one of the unlucky ones, "blessed" with powerful gifts from my father. The ability to summon light, healing, the works. And my eyes, golden pools of honey. No one like me had ever been born before. But that was what brought the curse.

Both sides wanted me. Had promised me things I would receive if I joined their side. But the Titans weren't too happy when they found out I didn't want to be part of their little team.

How many of my siblings and friends could have lived if I had picked the wrong side. I knew they would have wanted me to make the best decision, but it hurts thinking back to those moments, knowing I could have saved them.

The sound of a door stopped my thoughts. I looked over to see one of my half-brothers, Will Solace, walking in, a giant hickey on the side of his neck.

I smirked. "Looks like you and Nico were having some fun together."

Will jumped back, slightly startled,and blushed a deep crimson hue.

"Whatever," he brushed off. "Anyways, I was looking for."

"Well, you found me."

"El, some of the older campers are having a get-together after dinner. They're gonna talk about some of their thoughts and stuff. Nico and I were wondering if  you'd like to come."

My previous light expression had hardened into one of stone, all sense of joy leaving my body. "You mean you want me to attend group therapy?"

"Soleil, ever since Emma and Max--"

"Don't," I snapped, wincing when I realized my mistake. I rose from my bed. "Please don't talk about them," I whispered.

"You hardly leave the cabin anymore. Everyone is starting to worry."

I sighed and brushed a hand through me brown hair. Ironic isn't it, I'm one of the only ones in the Apollo cabin with brown hair, only the blonde highlights categorized me as one of his children. "I think... I think I need some time. Away from camp. Away from... everything."

I sad look came across Will's face. "I understand. Let's go talk to Chiron."

~Time Skip~

After privately explaining the situation to Chiron at the Big House, I was granted leave from camp with no set return date. Will started helping me pack necessary items. Clothes, toothbrush, a pouch full of drachmas, nectar, ambrosia, and medical supplies of all kinds were packed into a backpack and duffel bag. 

"Do you have χορός του ήλιου?" He asked. Will was referring to my bow, now in it's dormant state as an ear cuff on my left ear. It roughly translates to ''dance of the sun''. I pushed aside my hair to show him.

"And what about ήλιος άγγιξε?" Sun touched. The name of my short sword anklet. I then lifted up my right leg to show him my weapon.

He gave a soft smile. "I'll never understand how you were able to learn how to use a short sword."

"Force of habit, I guess. I wanted to become good, so I did" I replied softly. Everything was packed up. I turned to look at Will to find tears in his eyes sparking ones in my own.

"I'm gonna miss you," I said. We hugged each other.

"I don't want you to go."

"I'll come back for yours and Nicos wedding," I grinned. He pushed me away from the hug, a blush clear on his face.

"A-Anyways, I wanted to give you this." Will took off one of his rings. His most prized one.

"So you can always have a piece of me with you. I know your gonna get bored without me to annoy you."

I slipped the small ring onto my finger and let out a light chuckle. "Thank you, Willy."

There was a moment of silence.

"So, see you later?" Will asked.

"So ya later, sucker." I grabbed my bags and started heading to the edge of camp. The eyes of curious campers followed me until I was buried in the forest. I took a deep breath before walking out the barrier and hiking towards the closest road.

The peace I was felt was short lived. I heard a loud snap, turning my attention to the cause of the noise. There before me stood the Minotaur, seven feet tall, hungrily looking at me before it charged. I pulled off my cuff, a black bow with a gold handle now in my hand. 

I aimed at the Minotaur and shot an arrow of pure light. It hit him, but it just seemed to make him angrier. I made a run back towards camp, but an obnoxious root tripped me. I fell to the ground, a cut now on my face, and my foot clearly sprained. 

I looked up, the Minotaur now above me, aiming a fist at my body. I barely had time to roll aside before it collided with the ground right next to me.

The small victory was short-lived. I was suddenly picked up from the ground and tossed to a tree. My bow was were I before layed, and there was no use using my sword with so many injury's.

"Soleil!" I heard. I inched my head to the side to see Will running towards me, bow in hand. 

I slowly felt my conscious slipping away. Was I dying? Who knows. At least I was able to see Will one last time.

Emma and Max, I hope you weren't waiting too long.

I bright light had filled the forest, almost blinding.

"What's happening!?" 

That was the last thing I heard as I let the darkness consume me for what I thought was the final time.
