Year 7

Draco

The first day of classes ran like normal, well as normal as it could. The dark lord had fully infiltrated Hogwarts after the death of Headmaster Albus Dumbledore. Now with Severus Snape as headmaster and Death Eaters as teachers, Hogwarts ran more like a prison or regime than a school. Snape merely acted as overseer of the school, but it was Alecto and Amycus Carrow (sibling Death Eaters) who ran the school. Alecto taught "Muggle Studies," whose agenda was to teach students to recognize muggles as disgusting individuals more closely related to animals than humans. He encouraged the divide between purebloods, halfbloods and mudbloods (muggleborn witch/wizard).  Amycus, Alecto's brother, taught "Dark Arts," formally known as "Defense Against the Dark Arts." It wasn't uncommon for them to elect students to practice performing the Cruciatus Curse on the students in detention. Within the first week, there had been more detentions and physical punishments given than house points.

There was also a clear divide between house privileges. Slytherins were allowed to do virtually anything. Unlike previous years, each house (Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin) was given a pureblood Slytherin boy and girl as their prefect. The Head Boy and Girl were also from Slytherin. It wasn't uncommon that a Slytherin student was freely roaming the halls at all hours of the night.

Students pushed past one another to get to their next class. Draco walked slowly down the hall, not noticing how students parted in his path. His thoughts were always introverted and often he would find himself at the next destination without recollection of his steps. Long tables lined with mocha stained stools sat behind an oversized podium which a plump, old wizard with a deep crease in his forehead was placing labeled jars upon its flat surface. Headmaster Snape taught Potions the first five years of Draco's Hogwarts career, but Professor Slughorn took over two years ago. Draco always looked forward to Potions, mostly because Snape favored him to the "golden trio," but as the years passed, he'd cultivated a passion for the art and chemistry of it all. Slughorn's class was easy, and he didn't say much  when Draco took the liberty to use supplies from the Potions closet when he was independently studying new potions.

Cauldrons were already bubbling and steaming, Draco took a seat at a table behind Crabbe and Goyle, Blaise quickly joined him. Goyle turned around and laid a fat hand on the table in front of Blaise, smacking it. A girthy chuckle made his second chin wiggle.

"Did you hear what Camille Carrow did last night? Apparently she got loaded and was cussing someone out. She started throwing things. Super messy. "

As if on cue, Camille entered the classroom with Daphne and Tracey.

"Pansy said she was throwing up all over the dorm this morning." Blaise added.

Crabbe's eyebrow raised. "Maybe someone got a little messy with her last night and there will be a little crawling Carrow around the dorm in a few weeks, aye?"

The three howled in laughter, causing the girls to look their way. Camille's eyes skirted across their faces quickly before allowing her hair to fall in front of her face as she sat down.

"That's not even how pregnancy works, dumbass." Draco snarled.

"Like you would know, but you haven't had your hands on a girl in years, unless you count that pat on the back from Umbridge." Snickered Goyle.

"You need something or someone to get you in the right headspace. You walk around like you're the god of death. " Blaise sucked in his lips. "I'm telling you man, Pansy can do this thing with her tongue..."

Draco stared ahead, not really listening, already knowing far too well what Pansy could do with her tongue.

"I'd like to know what Camille can do with hers. She's usually so pent up. I bet she'd explode if I got my hands on her." Crabbe fantasized.
