Year 7

Camille

She had successfully made it to all of her classes today, despite the rocky morning she'd had. She couldn't find her wand, which was usually on her bedside table. Somehow it had been bewitched to stick to the ceiling. At breakfast someone starting turning her pumpkin juice into tar. Later she found ink in her seat at her first class, and by lunch she'd changed twice. Now she was on her way back to change once more. During dinner two mid sized hot tarts had been jinxed and would  smash into her clothes every time she tried to pick them up. Clearly someone thought it funny to ruin her day, but she wasn't going to let them get the best of her. She also  wasn't going to let them get away with it either. As she returned to the Slytherin Common Room, she  noticed her classmates staring at her. Many were holding parchments with moving pictures. Camille snatched one from the hands of a second year girl. A blonde headed boy, whose face was blocked by a mess of brown hair in which the girls was moving in rhythm backwards and forwards. The boy's hands gripped the back of the mysterious girl's hair as their bodies rose and fell. Below the picture was a short paragraph with her name bolded.

" Camille Carrow, the soul sucker. One night with her would make even the dementors blush. Fred Weasley gives her nine out of ten stars. His only critique was the smell. Camille is always wand ready."

She read it again, blood draining from her hands. She didn't look up until she was being addressed.

"Camille, this is awful." Pansy spoke, one leg draped Blaise as she sat the arm of a chair. She got up and walked over to  her.

"Are you okay?" Pansy put arm around her shoulders.

Camille could feel tears stinging her eyes. Crabbe and Goyle, who were sitting on the opposite side of Blaise turned to stare at the girls.

"Who would do this?" Camille looked around the room. Most everyone was now staring at her.

"Hey Camille, my wand is ready." A squatty fifth year boy yelled. That sent Crabbe and Goyle into a fit of laughter. She noticed Pansy smirking as well. She took a step away from her, forcing her to drop her arm. Crabbe and Goyle began clapping as Draco walked into the Common Room. He stopped for a moment and stared at them. All eyes leapt from her to him, making the connection with him as the the blonde boy in the picture. Pansy picked up one of the flyers and met Draco in the middle of the room. She smiled at him as she outstretched her arm.

"You're a busy boy. How would rate Ms. Carrow?"

Draco slowly took the paper and read over it. He looked up at Pansy and then to Camille. A hot tear fell down her face.

"Draco, please tell them this is not real. It's a disgusting joke."

Crabbe was close enough that he could pull at the hem of her skirt. "Every good product needs at least three reviews."

"I'll throw in a fourth one for good measure." Goyle licked his lips.

Camille feverishly wiped away the tears from her face, only looking at Draco who held her gaze.

Blaise got up and stood behind Pansy, talking into the back of her hair.

"Pansy this is enough, don't you think?"

"No, I don't." She sneered an crossed her arms. "Actually, I think she's getting exactly what she deserves. Maybe you could say this is the exact FORMULATION to seeing the real Camille Carrow."

Camille's focus shifted from Draco to Pansy. She knew her well enough that she knew exactly what she meant. A trait of being a Slytherin is calculation. Pansy knew what to say to get her point across without giving away the innuendo. Camille looked down a her ruined clothes, the reason why she had come to the Slytherin Common Room in the first place. Pansy had been the one sabotaging and down right bullying her all day. She must have seen them last night together in the library.

Camille wiped a last tear. "You're jealous of nothing. You saw together last night and it kills you that he chose to spend that time helping me."

"Camille dear, I think you're losing your mind." Pansy continued to smile through gritted teeth.

"No, I'm not." Camille took a step left to address Blaise. " I lied to you the other day when you asked me if Pansy was seeing someone else."

She noticed shifts in body language from the trio. Pansy went stiff, tightening her arms on her chest. Draco stood up straighter, lifting his chin which was still bruised from Alecto's potion's class visit. Blaise back away from Pansy.

"Camille-" Pansy spat but Camille continued.

"Last night Pansy saw Draco and I together in the library. He was helping me with homework and then we just hung out. "

"I bet that's all you did." Goyle ribbed Crabbe.

"Shut up, idiots." Blaise barked in their direction.

This time it was Camille who stepped towards Pansy.

"Pansy watched as we laughed and talked as time went by he chose to spend time with me instead of her. See Blaise, you and your 'best friend' " using air quotes as she mentioned Draco, his eyes fixed on the floor. "They've been hooking up in the library and from what I've seen, it's happened more than once."

She allowed the silence to grow as Blaise glared between Pansy and Draco. Camille smirked and tossed her hair over her right shoulder. She smiled brightly at Pansy.

"See the thing is, Blaise, that Pansy has been in love with Draco since year four. She tried for years to get his attention, to be his girl, to be something with him. He never would be anything other than a secret with her. Since Draco would only commit to her in the shadows, she decided Blaise that you would do. She decided you would be "good enough" until one day, hopefully Draco would love her back."

Camille stepped sideways to look at Draco. "But that will never happen because he isn't capable of love."

She stared at him as he continued to focus on the floor. No one moved at first. The entire room was  made of statues. Finally Blaise broke the silence.

"Pansy, you and I....it's over."

"Blaise please. She's lying " Pansy reached for him, but he pulled away from her. Blaise hit Draco hard in the shoulder as he passed on his way out. Pansy, red faced and tear stained, shouted at Camille.

" You bitch, I'll - " Pansy began to reach for her wand. Camille took one step towards Pansy and collided her fist into Pansy's pug snouted face. Students erupted in conversation as Pansy wiped the blood from her nose. Both girls lunged for one another. Both were pulled away, one by Crabbe and one by Goyle. Camille wrestled out of Crabbe's grasp. The Slytherin Head Girl , Augusta Belby, grabbed the back of Camille's arm to lead her out of the Common Room, but before she willingly left, she turned to face them.

"You two are perfect for each other."
