Her chestnut hair draped across the pillow, his hand at the small of her back. The threat of summer beat down on them through the dormitory window.

"We could run away and start new lives as dairy farmers and have loads of little pigs and cows."

She rolled over to face him, propping herself up onto her elbow. She could feel his cold breath on her face. Her green eyes widened with dreams of an alternate reality. Her smile faded when his enthusiasm didn't match hers.

"You don't think we could?"

Just as quickly as her smile disappeared, it was replaced by an uncontainable giggle as he pulled her glistening body to his, firmly pressing their whole beings to one another. As if out of habit, her leg intertwined with his. His arm wrapped around her waist, her hands found his icy blonde hair. She could feel the light brush of his lips on her skin as he spoke.

"You are crazy." He kissed her clavicle. "My beautiful girl."

He smiled and shared a raspy laugh. Over the last few months his voice, once melodic and made of velvet, now broke the silence with gruff. The light in the room seemed to flicker and the air thickened. They laid in silence for what seemed like years, though even that wouldn't be enough time. With his free hand, he followed the outline of her body from temple
to hip. She felt a shiver rush down her spine with the movement of his fingertips. Her eyes slowly lifted from admiring his lips to meet his eyes, pale and sad. She played with a palm full of his hair at the nape of his neck.

"Earlier today, what did you see when you looked into the mirror?"

Her voice was barely a whisper, her entire body fully aware of each nerve ending. The butterflies in her stomach exploded in flight as she awaited his response.

The satin sheets were warm between them, though crumpled. The forest green bedding, a stark contrast to his alabaster skin, was damp with sweat. He seemed to ponder her question, which sent a panicked signal to her eyes that searched his patient greys. He pulled the hair from her face, a small smile adorning his. He looked at her lips before planting the smallest kiss on the tip of her nose. She heard the audible intake of air she didn't know she was holding the entire time. His smile faded as he stared reassuringly into her.

"I don't have to look into a mirror to know exactly what my heart desires the most in this world."

Suddenly, the once bright and sunlit room, filled with shadows in an instant. A wild crackle of thunder vibrated the headboard. In her periferal, she saw the glittering black ink begin to dance. He covered her with the bedding as he began to dress. A flash of electric green swallowed the sky. She sat up, covering herself with the the sheet.

"Draco..."

He stopped, clasping the last onyx button, taking her in once more. He bent over, placing a kiss on her swollen lips.

"I love you." he whispered.

She opened her eyes and he was gone.
