Rai's POV
Finally reached the edge of town. Looking around, I noticed it has changed in some ways. There are lesser shops than usual, lesser people. But their faces were always cheerful, just as I remembered. I don't want to cause this town any futher grief or sorrow.
I don't want this town to end up like that town centuries ago.
Letting out a loud sigh, I stepped into town and started my favourite hobby: shopping.
Walking over to the nearest apparel shop, I began rummaging through the clothes. I need a new set. Something stylish and comfortable but helps me blend in. I don't want anyone recognising me at the moment.
Pulling my hood over my eyes, I scanned through the clothes there. Finally choosing one plain white slim fitting robe with a hood, a pair of black leather shoes, I paid for them. The storekeeper was nice. Too bad I can't make new friends yet. Have to be careful. I think Makarov should know I'm here by now. Hope he has warned his family.
Shuffling my feet, I strolled towards Fairy Hills. I wonder if anybody would turn me in, due to the heavy bounty placed on my head. I laughed dryly. 'Heavy' is an understatement. That money could make a king happy.
Hell, it would make Makarov happy. He could renovate his guild or whatever. Or get new training equipment. Would he choose moneg over friendship?
It's better if I don't make any friends first. I have to analyse them, and take notes. Maybe stalk a little to see if they're worthy. Geez, I'm making them sound like test subjects.
I didn't realize I had reached the doorstep of Fairy Hills girls' dormitory. Looking up, I scrutinised the building. It has been renovated. It got much bigger. Before, it was a one-storey building. Now, it has three storeys. Guess new people moved in. I wonder if they'd turn me in. Who wouldn't?
I approached the lobby desk.
"Hi, I'm here to rent four rooms. Will be staying here till......um, further notice," I told the girl at the counter. She's cute. With bangs and waist-length hair.
"Are you a guild member? Because only guild members can rent a room," she replied smiling.
"I'm a friend of Makarov's. And yes, I'll be joining the guild. Just have to settle down for the night. I will talk to Makarov in the morning," I answered nervously.
"Master Makarov? Yeah, he said a friend of his will be here tonight. You're one of those rich ones, aren't you? Cause five rooms are not cheap," she judged. "There is another girl here who rented five rooms. Wonder how she copes with the rent. And what the hell she did with those rooms."
"Anyway, I just want five rooms. Can you do that for me?" I shrugged. She nodded and handed me a form with a brown envelope.
Forms. They give me a headache. Sitting down at the nearest table, I took a look round the lobby. There were six round tables with four chairs each. Guess this is where they 'hang out'. Looking back at my form, I wondered whether I should lie about my name.
