Rai's POV
Sunlight streamed through my curtains. For some reason, I slept well. I actually felt rested and ready to fight. Stretching, I sat up on my bed and just stared at my room for a few minutes. Then I caught sight of my open wardrobe and everything that happened yesterday came rushing back to me.
I looked down at my hands. In order to save her, I have to emotionally kill myself. But somehow I knew, that being cold to her would hurt more than dying. But, at least, she would be safe, right?
Shuffling to the room bathroom, which I intend to break down, I had a nice hot shower. Though nothing will ever soothe my worries.
Slipping into my armour for the day, I opened the door, peeked out to see nobody there, then hurried down to the guild. Since it was still early, there was nobody there but Mira.
She smiled at me, I tried to return it. Taking a seat at the bar, I asked her for my cake. She nodded.
"You're just like Erza, Rai. She eats cake every meal. It's a wonder she never gets fat. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, cake, cake, cake. Always the same cake too. Strawberry cake with vanilla icing that melts in your mouth," Mira giggled.
I was about to smile to myself, then I remembered. I am not supposed to show any emotions.
"I am nothing like her. Don't compare me to her. It's an insult. She's weak," I coldly replied.
"Eh? Did you and her have a falling out? Not good. Get back together. Nobody notices it yet, but I do. I know for sure that Erza likes you. The way she looks at you is different from everybody else. And trust me, it is practically impossible for her to be interested in someone. She has high standards," pausing, Mira glanced at me, smiled, before continuing, "and I can clearly see that. Whoever thought she would fall for the most dangerous human in history? Nah, you are history. Like literally."
Erza likes me?! How could Mira know?
"I'm not human," I whispered.
"But a part of you is still human, no? Here's your cake. Enjoy. I even put one of Erza's strawberries," Mira smiled. "I have to go wake those idiots up. They have jobs to do. See you later, Rai."
I stared at my cake. Usually, I'd be wolfing it down but today I have no mood. Removing the strawberry from the cake, I ate it slowly, trying to focus on the taste so I don't have to think crazy stuff again. I couldn't taste anything, not even the chocolate, and my mind is messed up.
Pushing my unfinished cake away, I placed my katana on the counter, unsheathed it and stared at the pure white blade. I call it Winter Blizzard. Made from the best metals on earth, compiled by the earliest swordsmiths of my time, this sword is my best.
I have others though not as pretty or powerful. Still powerful, enough to easily overpower anyone, if you used enough magic.
There is Black Beauty. Like the name suggests, it is pure black. Pitch black. Darker than darkness. It is the opposite of Winter Blizzard. I usually use them both when in serious fights. Yin and yang.
Then there's Crimson Moon, Blade is silver, the rest is blood red. She's beautiful. Though I don't use her as much.
One last sword, Blue Wave. I use it when fighting in the water of course. It's more powerful in the water as it draws natural magic into its blade.
All four are made by the best swordsmiths of my time. The first and last set. Because after they made it, I kind of killed them. To make sure nobody makes the same thing. No other swordsmith since then has ever created swords this beautiful or powerful.
