There was nothing in the world that could have compare to the happiness what they felt now every day. To wake up and fall asleep together, in the knowledge that no one can separate them anymore. It was only thetwo ofthem and the endless ocean. (And of course the crew that was very much needed on such a big ship.) From now on they were really like a big family.

Before the month the baby was supposed to be born, they went to Tortuga to bring some midwives on the ship to help with the birth. Jack was by her side all the way her pregnancy and helping her, sometimes she was too scared of his beloved wife. He experienced more and more feelings, and as if he was starting to be more responsible.

On a warm summer night, he was lying next to his wife on the bed, getting her comfortable, bringing her some water and fruits, giving her massages, and stroking her belly while talking to the baby.

"Do you think he can hear me?" Jack asked her, leaning closer to it.

"Definitely. But it's not sure it'll be a boy." She giggled, caressing his cheek.

"Whatever it will be, they must be as beautiful and brave as you are." He said, giving a kiss on her forehead. "It kicked!"

"I think they agree." She smiled, putting her hand on her belly.

The baby started arriving around midnight on a Friday night. Of course, the whole crew was curious about the events and they helped where they could, and in her nervousness Jack didn't even know where to run. The midwives prepared everything nicely, and Alyssa decided she wanted to get over the birth alone, knowing that Jack couldn't really stand things like that anyway, and would most likely faint.

A few hours later, the little one was born, after being cleaned, wrapped in a blanket and given to the mother.

By this time, Jack could enter the room, walking to the bed with tremendous excitement. She smiled with a tired face, and when he sat down on the edge of the bed, she showed him the sleeping infant.

"She's your daughter." She whispered with teary eyes.

"My daughter..." He repeated in an emotional voice, he could hardly believe it was really happening.

"Wanna hold her?" She asked, and he nodded, taking the small baby into his arms. "What shall we name her?"

"Jacklyn, maybe?" He suggested.

"It's perfect." She smiled, and leaned back wearly against the pillows.

"Sleep, my luv, I'll take care of her." Jack said affectionately.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah. She's my beautiful little girl, we'll be fine. We let you relax." He said, gently rocking Jacklyn.

"Thank you." She said, before closing her eyes. He smiled and gave a gentle kiss on her forehead then left the room with the baby. He proudly walked out on board, where the crew greeted the little one with a soft applause, and gratuation, so they wouldn't wake her up. Then Jack went to the bow of the ship with the bundle in his arms. The rays of the rising sun appeard in the new horizon, shining a light on the baby's face. Then, with a yawn, she opened her big brown eyes, which were just like her father's, and as she looked at him, she smiled. His heart melted, and filled with warmth that cannot be described in words. Jack looked at her with adoration, holding her tighter carefullly, placing a kiss on her cheek, and said,

"Welcome home, luv."
