"Well that was... certainly something," Seamus said as he sat up on the wood floor and dusted himself off. He gave an awkward thumbs up at Harri and Jim to show that he was alright and began to reassess himself and his surroundings. Seamus looked over to Kato who moved so that they were lying on the ground. They had moved to a much more comfortable position on their back and were just relaxing there now. Seamus got up and said with a concerned look on his face, "You good buddy?"
"I am definitely alive," Kato said with a dazed grin on their face. They opened their eyes to see that Harri, Jim, and Seamus were now looking over them. The three big men looked concerned with how calm Kato was after their reaction to the bread, but Kato was as easygoing as ever. Jim offered a hand, but Kato continued to lay and simply stated, "I'll chill here. The ground is nice and cold."
"It's also hard and you could get stepped on, so get up," Jim demanded as he grabbed Kato's hand and pulled them up. While they were getting up, Klark and Sam came out of the backroom. They looked concerned and came up to the group surrounding Kato.
"Is everyone alright in here?" Klark walked up to the group as Kato pushed out from the middle of the group.
"We're fine," Kato exclaimed. They backed away from the others a bit.
"So when are the powers going to kick in?" Seamus asked. He looked at Jim for an answer.
"You think we know?" Jim sat down at his table again keeping a steady eye on both of the newest members, but particularly on Kato. "For now, we just have to wait."
The group sat around for a while. As restless as they were, only the longstanding members were allowed to leave. The other three were still developing. They were scattered all over the room. Kato and Jim were having a very one-sided conversation with the latter in his chair and the former lying next to him on the ground, much to his dismay. Seamus was listening to music at a different table and Sam was testing out his new powers in the back room.
"So, are there more people like us? Do they have cool powers too?" Kato asked questions with the excitement of a small child. Every once and a while they would look at Jim if he hadn't responded. "Are there bad guys?"
"Yes, yes, and yes. You will meet some others soon and they also have powers. And yes, there are others who are trying to collect the Admans for more personal reasons," Jim stated, trying to get the person to stop asking so many questions.
All of a sudden, his eyes glazed over. He stared dead ahead as his powers kicked in. Jim reached for the table but knocked over his glass right over Kato. Kato braced themself for the glass to fall, but nothing happened. As they opened their eyes, they saw a forest green force field around them. When they looked around, they saw Seamus with his hands reaching out towards them as if to protect them. All eyes turned to him.
"What the (frick) was that?" Kato stayed still, freezing in shock after realizing what happened. Everyone stared at Seamus intensely, scared of what might happen next. The room was still for a moment, and you could hear a pin drop.
"I got no clue," Seamus replied, hesitant to break the silence with his words. He pulled back his hands and looked at them. The sphere disappeared and the cup fell on Kato, along with all of its contents. Kato looked at Seamus and then went to the bathroom to clean themself back up. As they did this, Jim walked over to Seamus.
"Hey, bud, what was that?" He put a hand on Seamus's shoulder. Seamus was still looking at his hands, trying to figure out where it came from.
"I really don't know. I put my hands out to protect Kato and it just happened." He looked Jim in the eyes and saw that he had a determined look.
