Chapter Eighteen

Tony carried Rose while he flew, then carefully dropped her down outside the stage Hammer was presenting on. She quietly entered the room and contacted Natasha to let her know she had arrived.

"Hey Natty, I'm in the back, how's it up there?" Rose asked over comms.

"All good so far, what stunt is Tony about to pull," Natasha whispered back.

"No clue, but he thinks that guy from Monaco is back and helping Hammer," responded Rose, "Just stick close to Pepper and Happy, get them out if it gets bad."

"Copy that Blondie"

Rose scouted the building, no one seemed to be out of place beside her. She was about to check in with Tony, before she saw him fly down onto the stage, next to Rhodey in the War Machine suit. The two men talked back and forth before the drones behind them turned on.

"Hey Tones, are they supposed to be doing that?" Rose asked.

"I'm locked up, the system's been compromised," Rhodey responded before Tony could. The suit then tried to fire at Tony, causing the audience to freak out and start running.

"Nat, I believe that's the cue. I'd get Pepper to the tech setup backstage, Hammer just ran back there," Rose said on her comms to Natasha, she saw the redhead grab Pepper and head that way. Pepper tries to politely question Hammer, but she was taking too long.

"Where's Vanko?" questioned Nat, as she slams Hammer's head onto the table.

"My facility," stammered Hammer, surprised at the action.

"You copy that Rose?" asked Nat over the comms.

"Yeah but it's all you Red, I gotta deal with these drones. The four branches of the drones had been activated, with the Air Force taking after Tony, and Rhodey along with them. That left Rose to deal with the other three.

"Alright then. Let's have a little fun!" yelled Rose, gaining the attention of what looked to be the Army drones. She began blasting at the drones, before realizing the Navy ones had begun to fire missiles into the crowd. With her left hand, Rose continued to blast at the drones, but with her right, she managed to create a shield above the crowd. She felt herself draining, and she still hadn't located the Marine drones.

"Rose, there's a pack on Tony that just peeled off towards the expo, can you cover them?" asked Rhodes over the Jarvis-comms. While his suit was malfunctioning, he could still tell Tony Rose what was happening.

"I can try, but some help would really be appreciated boys," she responded. They could hear the strain in her voice, so Tony started to circle back.

"Nats, how we looking at the facility?" Rose questioned through her other set of comms.

"Just got in, kinda in the middle of something," responded Nat. Rose could hear grunting from men too.

"If you can, when you are free, try to unlock Rhodey for me," asked Rose, "The backup would be greatly appreciated."

"Anything for you Blondie!" responded Nat, the grunting stopped, "Give me like two minutes and he should be good."

Rose continued fighting off the drones. Luckily she gained the attention of most of them, so they were coming to her.

"I'm back ladies and gentlemen!" yelled Rhodey over comms, quickly finishing off the drones on Tony's back.

"Hey Rose, can you swing and meet us at the atrium, keep it all contained?" asked Tony while swiftly navigating the globe to take out a few more drones.
