The boy turned around, he thought he heard something. He shook his head and whispered, "Never mind." He continued walking through the darkened path, his hair an inky black from the light. He heard leaves crunching, and turned around again. This time he knew he wasn't imagining things. He straightened his back, his body stiff. He looked around as if something or someone might jump out at him. After waiting for a short period of time he turned back and carefully started trekking again. Suddenly something flew out and coiled around the boy's body, pinning him to the floor. The last thing he saw before his vision went black, was a fang deeply embedded into his wrist.

Katie woke up suddenly, sweat pouring down her face. Her sudden jerk woke Jake, who was sleeping next to her.

"What's wrong?" He questioned sleepily while rubbing his eyes.

"Nothing" Katie replied hesitantly, not wanting to share her bad dream with him.

"Listen. I know something is up, how 'bout you tell me?" Jake asked gently, seeing the look of terror and fear on Katie's face.

"I had a dream about his boy in the forest. He was looking for something and got bitten by a snake. I think my dream told the future and that boy is in trouble."

"Katie. What if that dream, was just a dream and we go looking for a boy that doesn't exist."

"I'm still going, I think that boy will help us save the forest, and if he isn't real, there are bound to be more people in the forest other than us," Katie said stubbornly.

"Ok fine" Jake agreed, too tired to argue with Katie.

They both packed their bags and headed off back on the path, in search of the mysterious boy.
