About: Jonghyun's funeral[Diana's POV]
As we approached nearer to the medical center, I could see fans gathering outside the medical center. Media reporters are also everywhere near the building.
The SUV stops near the pathway towards the building after some time. Manager Lee went out first and then opened the door for me. While looking down, I got out of the car.
I could hear camera clicks and flashes around me but I chose to lower my head since my eyes are a little swollen. Manager Lee gently pushed me from my waist to walk.
I followed him from behind and two guards were escorting us from my behind. I heard some girls calling for me but I ignored them, pretending that I didn't hear them.
We entered the building and straight away make our way towards the stairs. Manager Lee, our guards, and I walked up the stairs. There were three options.
Stairs, escalators, and elevators. I chose stairs to be faster. Not much different though.
When we reached the upper floor, I could see flowers as condolence lined along the walls. All with deep condolence for the passing of a famous male artist.
Jonghyun.
Who could even imagine? The most cheerful and passionate man in his job could leave the world in the most devastating way. No one could imagine it. But here we are.
Trying to accept the fact that he is gone.
Forever.
I walked towards the entrance of the hall and that is where I met the members of SHINEE. All were wearing black and were mourning the loss of their group member.
"Oppa," I called them.
All four of them turned towards me and formed a thin smile. More like a bland one actually. A sad one.
"Ah-rin-ssi," Minho said first before embracing me. I hugged him back and put my head on his shoulder before shutting my eyes. I exhaled as I hugged him tightly.
"I can't believe it." Minho said. We broke the hug and I hold his hands. I look at the other members.
"Neither could I." I told him as my eyes got teary again. "Your eye is swollen enough, Ah-rin-ssi." Onew mentioned. I smiled blandly as I looked up and sniffed.
"Let us all be strong. He wouldn't want us to be sad of his passing." I said to them, squeezing Taemin's shoulder, giving the man support.
He simply nodded. He was the one who looked really devastated among other members.
"I'll go in first. Text me if you need anything." I said to them. They simply nodded and gave a thin smile. I nodded before leaving. I entered a corridor and turned right where a room is.
There, Jonghyun's parents were inside. Both wearing black outfits. They were seating on a cushion in front of the coffin. I took a deep breath before I took off my shoes and entered the room.
The room is where I pay my last respect for him.
"Ahjumma, ahjussi," I called softly as I entered the room. They turned towards me and they gave me a familiar look. "Ah-rin", Jonghyun's mother said. I smiled blandly.
I kneeled in front of Jonghyun's parents and the praying area. I bowed down for a few moments before getting up back. I hugged Jonghyun's mother as she sobbed on my shoulder.
Jonghyun's parents and my parents are friends since school days. Yes, we are close. Instead, I could say that I'm very close to Jonghyun but I don't know how this can happen.
After some time, Jonghyun's mother calmed down and we broke the hug. I was tearing up too.
"Gomawo, Ah-rin-ah. You made him happy a lot of times." His mother said. I shook my head as I held her hands. "Aniyo. He deserves to be happier. I failed as a friend. I am sorry." I said.
"Don't say that, Ah-rin. You did your best and you made him happy. He told me that he was always happy with you because you understand whatever he's been through." The woman added.
Diana looked down and tears flowed down her cheeks.
"Mianhae. I couldn't stop him. I failed to make him happy. This has been my greatest failure." I said as tears flowed down my cheeks. His mother shook her head before hugging me again.
"He loves you as if you're his younger sister. He is happy if you are happy. Do not be sad. Think positive. It's going to be had but time will heal everything." His mother said as she rubbed my back.
I nodded and broke our hug.
"Gomawo, Ah-rin-ah. You made our son happy. You're one of the people who understands him in most things." His father said. I smiled blandly and nodded.
I'm glad I ever made you happy, Jonghyun-ah.
At the funeral, I was able to meet Yeri. Yeri from Red Velvet. She was the only member who had the chance to visit Jonghyun before his funeral. We were both devastated by his passing.
No one expects that this would happen to a cheerful person.
Some say the most cheerful person is the saddest person inside.
I think it's time for me to believe that phrase. It kinda makes sense and true right now.
I just hope . . . that one day . . . we will meet again
Jonghyun-ah.
Bogosipeo.
Saranghae.
Take care.
