When Tonks walked up to where Evalina was staying, she found Evalina scribbling agitatedly on the walls with a marker she had found.
"Ev- uh, Evalina, why don't you put the marker down?"
Evalina narrowed her eyes at her and continued scribbling.
"Or not. That's completely fine. Do you want to talk while you uh, scribble?"
Evalina stopped for a second, but didn't say anything and continued scribbling.
Tonks sat down on the dusty bed in the room, "You're like Da Vinci. He's this Muggle artist- dead famous. Well, he definitely is dead. He's not alive anymore. He made these great paintings-"
"I know who he is." Evalina interrupted frantically, then continued to scribble as though she was writing a document for the Queen.
"I, um, had to take Muggle Studies as part of my Auror training. So I can understand the Muggles if a mass casualty happens. And I bet we'll be seeing more of them.." she added the last part in an undertone.
"Muggles are cool, but they're so clueless! Not that it's their fault, but I could never imagine being a Muggle, I mean-"
"Be quiet, would you!" Evalina said, looking manic as she continued to scribble on the walls desperately, her hair turning black.
Tonks eyebrows' furrowed and she non-verbally Accioed the marker to her hand.
Evalina looked ready to scream, before dropping to the ground on her knees, her hair turning white.
Tonks hurried over worriedly, putting a hand on Evalina's shoulder.
"You can talk to me." she said in a kind tone.
"I- I just- I really hate being treated like I'm a weapon. Like I'm not a person with feelings. I do have feelings, I have such horrible feelings, sometimes I wish I wasn't here. Why do I have to see people getting tortured and people dying. I'm only there to predict the outcome of this war, I might as well not have any emotions. I wish I didn't. It would make my life so much easier." said Evalina all at once.
Tonks was shocked. That was the most Evalina had said at all today, let alone to her.
"But- um, emotions are what makes us human. And being human is a good thing, believe me! Would you rather be a frog?" said Tonks.
"What?" Evalina said.
"Or a cow? Or a sheep?" said Tonks, thinking she was doing well.
"I don't get it." said Evalina.
"I'm not surprised. Ignore me. Just- how about I get you a book and you write down all your feelings in it.." said Tonks, changing the subject.
Evalina nodded slowly.
"The thing you said about not being able to imagine being a Muggle. I'm part-Muggle, I think. The Healers said I have psuedoseizures or something." said Evalina ashamedly.
"Well, that doesn't mean you're part-Muggle. Even the most pure-blooded person can get a Muggle disease. So don't you worry. Anyways, there's nothing wrong with being a Muggle anyway. The girl down there, with the lovely curly hair, who looked around your age?"
Evalina nodded, remembering her.
"Yeah, she's a Muggleborn. Means both her parents are Muggles. And there's nothing wrong with her. She's, like, really smart!" said Tonks.
"Oh."
"They said I need less stress on my mind for the psuedoseizures to stop. But I don't know how to do that." said Evalina.
"I'll help you. Don't worry, everything's gonna be fine! And, you're gonna love Hogwarts! I did. Maybe you'll be a Quidditch girl." said Tonks quite excitedly.
"I've never done magic before. And I think it's a magic school. So how am I meant to love it?" said Evalina, irritable and agitated again.
Tonks frowned at the change of mood.
"You'll- you will learn." she said.
"Would you get out?!" Evalina said suddenly.
Tonks' eyes widened, but she walked to the door and shut the door slowly.
