Clary's POV

"MUM, where is Freyja?" I yelled from the top of the stairs.
"Clary .. she left us , after you came home crying she said she couldn't handle us anymore" My mother stated , "We don't need her , Clary ".
When I heard her say that , I broke down in tears , Freyja isn't the type of person who would say something or do something to protect me then leave , like she didn't care . It broke me more than I thought was possible . I decided to call her , as I knew she was always going to answer .

"Why did mum say you left us" I said in tears .
"Clary I didn't leave , that was your mums stupid excuse." Freyja paused , "Meet me and the abandoned church , and I will explain everything."
"Okay " I said. What is she going to explain ? I saw her kill people that turned into dust .

the call ended , switch to Freyja POV

I walked out of Izzy's room , she was fast asleep , when I turned around after closing the door , I bumped into a man taller than me , black shirt and leather jacket . It was Alec .
"Aren't you supposed to be sleeping ?" Alec questioned looking straight into my eyes .
"I'm meeting Clary , I'm gonna tell her who she is, you can come with , if you wanted " I said looking him up and down , "You keep looking at me with interest in your eyes "I said quietly .
"Just because I am taller , does not mean I cant hear you when you talk quietly "Alec said .
I scoffed , Alec smirked and looked away ,"When did you say Clary was gonna be here?"
"At half past , why?" I asked .
Alec pulled his arm out looking at his watch , as he did that , his muscles show , I tried to hide my shocked face as they were massive ."Its nearly half past , lets go wait outside."
"Since when did you like Clary enough to go wait for her to show up ?" I smirked .
"haha very funny , lets go ." Alec said .
Me and Alec were too busy talking to realise that Izzy was awake and stood listening and watching our conversation , when Alec had walked away , I looked out the closest window , an arm grabbed me but I didn't scream , it was Izzy's arm .
"Shh , he definitely likes you ." she said .
"What do you mean , he doesn't like me ." I said thinking if that was true.
"Frey , I have never seen Alec smile like that before, he deffo likes you ."
I didn't say anything for a few seconds , then told her I had to go meet Clary .
As I was walking down to Alec , who was waiting at the bottom of the stairs for me , I thought if what Izzy had said was true , I mean we only met yesterday but he acts differently around me than around others .
"What took you so long ?" he said.
"Izzy was awake and watching us , she grabbed my arm and said that you liked me " I said and laughed .
Alec didn't seem too happy when I said that , but he laughed slightly, to not make it awkward .
Clary soon showed up and she ran and hugged me, she said hi to Alec as he wasn't much of a hugger .Me and Alec explained everything to Clary , she didn't say anything so I did .
"Go home and think about it , don't tell mum though , okay ?" I said as Clary walked away .

"I thought your mum died?" Alec asked in a sorry voice .
"My dad died , and I never met my mum , clary just thinks I'm her sister as I was there since she was a baby , me and Jocelyn could never tell her the truth , we always thought she would run away ." I said turning round to look at him .
Alec's phone pinged so I looked away as he opened the message.
Alec let out a little chuckle . I was confused for a moment then realised it was Izzy saying something, it couldn't have been Jace ,as he would have found us .
"Shall we go inside , you little gnome ." Alec said slightly laughing .
"How rude bigfoot " I said .
Alec scoffed and I smiled , he put his arm round me and took me inside , just as it was about to rain .
