GEOVANI

for the long day that Sofia has been here, I could tell she resented me. Ever since that night she had seen me with a gun aiming at her then love, she hasn't forgiven me. I imagine that either Sebastian or Matteo told her the truth about me...that I too, was in the mafia. I can't imagine the amount of dis-trust she must be feeling right now.

I've been meaning to tell her everything. Everything about the real reason her mother died, how I enrolled in the mafia. I was ready for her to know, it was time she knew her family history...

"Sofia?" I asked as I laid my hand on her shoulder. She hasn't left the house in hours. Sofia would always stay in one specific spot all day. I didn't think that she'd remember. But, her mother, Maria would coddle her in that very spot. She would sing to Sofia as a baby, right in the window that had been in front of her chair. Maria would sit in it as she held Sofia and always say, "L'Italia è quella che chiamavano bella, ma la mia bellezza è tra le mie braccia mentre riposa. La mia bellissima bambina, sorride mentre guarda dalla finestra. Dove direbbero Italia, che bel posto."

It was a poem she had made the day Sofia was born, it means...

Italy is what they called beautiful,

But my beauty lays in my arms as she rests.

My beautiful baby girl smiles as she looks upon the window.

Where they'd say Italy, what a beautiful place.

"Ya'know, this was your mother's favourite place in this big house." I chuckled. "She would sit right there, holding you in her arms. She made a poem for you." I said pointing towards her mother's chair.

"I remember her reading me a poem every night before bed." She  said as a small tear dropped from her glowing eyes. "You know, before she died. I don't remember much of anything else." She continued as she turned her back towards me.

"Why don't you go out, go relive your time in Italy. We'll talk later." I said trying to hold in my tears.

"Why would I want to relive such a tragic childhood? I didn't ask to come here, back home." She said as she stormed off, wiping the tears from her face.

SEBASTIAN

"Sebastian, Sebastian!" Victoria yelled frantically.

"What do you want?" I replied as I sat in my chair, turning to the right.

"Sofia's gone, she ambushed me. What do we do now, how are we going to catch that slippery bitch now?" She said as she crossed her arms, leaning against my doorway.

"I know, I let her go."

"You did what?!"

"I let her go. It is not her that we are after."

"Or you could just admit that you had real feelings for her. All this time, I thought you were just playing her, you know like you were supposed to do." She  said as she crept towards me. "You were supposed to make her feel worth something, loved, fulfilled in every way. You were supposed to get her wrapped around your little finger." She whispered as she knelt down in front of me.

Her hands were on my knees as she looked at me and whispered, "You were supposed to make her feel like nothing else in the world mattered, but your love."

By then she had lifted her hands off my lap, and slowly dragged her finger up my chin. She came closer and closer to my mouth as she stared at me with such desire and temptation. Her lips reached mine, her legs wrapped around my chair as she slowly sat on my lap. My hands caressing her lower back up and down, as she rocked back and forth. One thing led to another, we later found ourselves lying on the floor in front of the warm fireplace.
