The two stepped into their second lesson for the day, potions. Snape gave the two a loathing look and turned his attention to the class to start. Remus was standing at the right side of the front of the classroom so that Cecilia could see him but he would not disturb Snape nor the class.

"Today we are going to start our brewing with the Veritaserum, though I will need an assistant to help me with this." Snape started speaking and neither Remus nor Cecilia was seeing who he was looking at when seeking an assistant until his eyes met their match. "Lupin, why don't you join me?"

"What?"

"Why don't you help me in showing the effects of the Veritaserum? I will only give you three drops."

"I... Um..."

"Come on! Don't be a coward-"

"I will do it!" Cecilia stood up and looked directly at the professor and he seemed shocked. He really wanted to force some secrets out of Lupin, but since she volunteered, he had no choice.

"Fine. You can join me over here and Lupin can sit there so you can see what I am saying."

She had a plan. If Remus simply didn't or changed the interpretation, she could give different answers.

Will you help me?

"And no false interpretation, Loony Lupin! I will know!"

Remus looked at him with a strained smile, and she knew he could not help her, even if he wanted.

"So, Miss. Johnson, do you like potions?"

"Yes, I do."

"Great, then you can simply open your mouth so that I can give you these three small drops."

She leaned back on the chair and opened her mouth. The drops were cold and didn't taste much, and she just hoped against all odds that it wouldn't work.

"Tell me, why were you homeschooled?"

"Because I am deaf and my parents are scared I will be bullied at Hogwarts since they were."

"How do you feel about being here?"

"I am happy, especially since I get to meet new people but also because Remus is very kind and handsome..." She couldn't stop her words, her tries were futile and she just hoped he wouldn't dig in that hole.

"Really? What do you like about him?" Remus had a small blush on his cheeks when he interpreted this for her. He was very interested in the answer.

"His emerald green eyes, the cool scars on his face and his hands. Especially his hands."

"What do you like about them?"

"They seem rough but also soft, and they are soft and the scars just make them so much more..."

"What?"

"Attractive." She blushed such a deep red color and wished the ground could just swallow her up right now because of all this embarrassment.

"Tell me, what is so special about him?"

"His laughter, his smile, and how nice he is. He is much nicer than you, Severus."

"Don't call me that! What has he said about his friends?"

"That they're mostly dead, and one is in prison."

"Now, why would a nice guy like Remus here, hang out with such men?"

"Maybe they were nice but simply got caught in the wrong life."
