This chapter is basically the sylvirwings story, and it just explains what happened.
THIS IS NOT IN ALEX'S PERSPECTIVE!!!
----------------
This story begins over one hundred years ago, when a group of scientists working for the government had created a new breed of humans called the 'Sylvirwings'. In the womb, they would grow wings, and artificial hormones created powerful abilities and the enhancement of things such as speed, strength and emotions.
They were to be used as troops, and they were to be America's most powerful weapons.
After many failures, the first set of living Sylvirwing babies were born. Before they could create any more, the other world leaders had found out about the experiment, and they weren't very happy.
As a result, the scientists were to dispose of the children, and the information was never to be told to the public. The records were to be wiped, and nobody was allowed to know how to recreate these 'monsters'.
But they couldn't get rid of them. Why? because they had been made immortal.
After hundreds of attempts using many different methods, it was agreed that they were impossible to destroy. The scientists agreed that the best thing to do would be to hide them.
The Sylvirwings were kept in an underground base near the borders of Canada, where they grew up learning how to control their abilities by experimenting around their quarters.
Sixteen years passed before there was a security breach.
When the world leaders found out about this, arguments started up amongst the countries on what to do with these teenagers.
War broke out and entire continents were wiped out. The only life left was in north and south America. Even then, cities had been bombed and large areas of land were unrepairable. The Sylvirwings had protected the country as much as they could, and had saved life as a whole from becoming extinct.
But whilst this was happening, the scientists had figured out a way to get rid of the Sylviwings as much as they could.
They started the process with a few of the Sylvirwings, cutting off their wings and removing their memory of having any powers at all.
By this point, the Sylvirwings were all nearing 18; but the tests ran on them came back showing that the signs of their bodies growing and ageing had ceased. They continued the tests, but they all came back the same.
The Sylvirwings would never become adults, they were stuck as teenagers forever.
As a result of this, the ones that had been stripped of their powers and wings already were assigned parents, who were to annually remove a years worth of memories from them, leading the Sylvirwing to believe they were only 17 years old.
By the time the other Sylvirwings had caught on, 5 of them had been through the process already. The remaining Sylvirwings left.
There was estimated to be only a dozen or so of the species left alive.
There isn't a happy ending, that's the end. They are still out there, somewhere, but they are damaged and lost, losing hope.
Of course this isn't the story that everyone else knows though.
This is the story they heard...
Just under one hundred years ago, a virus began to make it's way around the globe, sweeping out any and all signs of life. It wiped out entire continents, and was unstoppable.
But it didn't reach America. The land mass wasn't touched.
During the virus, there was quarrels between countries on what they should do to stop it, and eventually this led to war. The other world leaders didn't believe in America's methods, which led to bombing and raids.
In the end, America was the only country to survive. The rest of the world died out because of the disease, including all plants and animals.
The government decided to put together a plan of action to bring the leftover life back to it's best, which meant cutting benefits and upping taxes. There would be bumps on the road there, but a sense of normal was in sight.
That's a whole load of bull crap.
They upped the prices for nothing.
There isn't a plan of action.
The government knows that without the rest of the world, America will die out too.
And of course, the most obvious bit:
Normal has left the chat.
The problem is, the only people that truly know this are the Sylvirwings alive to tell the tale. Even the Elites don't know, because the Sylvirwings were seperated from their families at birth.
So to conclude, the Sylvirwings are the only hope left, but sometimes even the heroes need to hide.

I am in no ways relating this story to the current pandemic, this is entirely fiction. When I wrote the 'normal in sight' bit and then saying it was actually no where to be seen, I did not mean that aboout the coronavirus.
This chapter and my book as a whole is not based off of my opinions on the Pandemic!!!
