"I'm telling you, I saw him walk into his house with another girl." Abrianna complained about her boyfriend, "And he posted pictures with her on his story!"
Y/N sighed. "Bri, maybe she was just a relative or something. Why were you spying on him anyway?" The two stopped at Y/N's locker.
Abrianna scoffed. "Who's side are you on? And that's not the point. I saw him with another girl."
"Uh- don't do that." Y/N waved her pen around in her best friend's face. "You know I'm always on your side. I'm just trying to help you think rational so crap doesn't hit the fan."
As soon as Y/N put in her code and opened her locker, a note fell out.
"Uh oh," Abrianna teased. "It's that secret admirer of yours again."
Y/N rolled her eyes playfully. "Shut up, Bri." She opened up the note.
dear y/n, i want to talk to you face-to-face, but i don't really know how. i guess you could say i'm one of those shy kids, and plus, i've been writing letters to you for as long as i can remember. it's easier. you know what, now is time to stop being a chicken. meet me tonight at the ice rink. 7:00. i want you to know who i am before some other guy who likes you takes the credit. love, your mystery guy.
Abrianna had been looking over Y/N's shoulder as she read the letter along with her. She gasped as she stepped back. "This is your chance to find out who this is. Although, it could be any guy that isn't into guys. Maybe even one of the teachers!"
Y/N's face scrunched up at the thought. "Great, now I don't want to go no more." She slammed her locker shut and started walking to her class.
Abrianna tried not to laugh. "Wait, girl, don't be like that!" She called and snorted a bit before quickly walking after her. "Y/N! I'm sorry, maybe it isn't one of the teachers!"

Later that night, Y/N very much indeed get ready for tonight anyway. She wanted to know who this person was! But, you didn't want to go alone so Abrianna came with you, of course.
"Now, remember, if he tries to get at you the wrong way, throw one of your skates at him and skate your a** outta there with one shoe." She warned the other.
Y/N squinted her eyes at her best friend. "Right. Okay, okay. But I'm so nervous." She whined.
"Honey, that's okay. Just breathe and be yourself. He obviously loves you for that."
She nodded and huffed, tying up her skates and looking around the rink. She went onto the ice, skating carefully.
"Y/N!" She heard her name being called by an unfamiliar voice and she saw a boy her age skating towards her.
He stopped smoothly, standing in front of her and he just gazed into her brown eyes. "I knew you were going to be just as pretty up close.."
She smiled and looked away, down at their skates. "You've seen me before?"
"Yes," He tilted her chin up so she was looking at him again. "I'm in your art class. I'm Ni-ki."
"Ni-ki." She repeated. "That's cute." She smiled before her smile faded away. "Wait, wait. I'm supposed to know who you are. Why aren't you mad at me?"
"Because I'm not very outgoing so not many people don't know who I am. I keep to myself." He shrugged. "I'm sorry if I gave you a creepy feeling for all this time-"
Y/N shook her head, "No. This? This isn't creepy at all. None of it was. It's sweet, no one's done this before." She grabbed both of his hands. "You don't know how relieved I am that you're not a teacher."
At this, Ni-ki furrowed his eyebrows. "What?"
"My friend says stupid thing. Come on, let's get to know each other."
She lead him onto the ice and he smiled at her.
"You got it?" He looked down at their feet to make sure she was alright. "Here, hold on to me. I got you." He wrapped an arm around her waist.
Abrianna smiled as she watched them, getting up from the benches. "Guess she doesn't need me to stay anymore."
For the rest of the night, Y/N and Ni-ki laughed, talked, almost slipped and fell together. The two of them never thought it would turn out this good.
