The mechanics rushed out to the pit wall and quickly put Sonne Celes Jung P1 and Felipe Massa P2 on the screen and celebrated as Jessica sat on the pit wall soaking it all up as Sonne Celes Jung passed them to win their first ever grand prix in Baku. Jessica knew how much it meant to these people. After nearly losing their jobs to now 6 months later will be standing on the top on the podium was just...wow. No words to describe how proud she was as she shook hands and celebrated with the others and hugged everyone as she rushed to parc ferme and was chosen to be on the podium.
Luca: I think it's only fitting that you get on that podium Jessica. You gave them this chance to be on the podium and they delivered. Come on. Head up there.
Jessica chuckled: If you say so. Let's get up there.
The mechanics and the team ran over to parc Ferme where Jessica was waiting for Celes to come back around and head over to that number 1 and Massa to that number 2 spot and started to cheer. But before that Jessica had to do a quick interview.
Crofty: Let's join in with team owner Jessica Jung. Jessica, first race victory for the team...how are the emotions are in the team?
Jessica laughed: unbelievavble. This race was very crazy with 5 of the top 6 drivers out of the race and wow...I still can't understand what just happened. I think it will take some time for it to sink into what we just did. This is a victory especially for the team. You need to remember 6 months ago this team was nearly up in the air and they nearly lost their jobs and they were backmarkers for so long scraping for those bare points and to see them so happy and on top of that podium...it's just wonderful to watch them and see the emotions that they have, especially with how much these people have been through it's really a sight to behold and this is a team win for these mechanics and everyone back in the factory. They put their heard and soul into making this car and today...the stars have aligned.
Crofty: Well thank you so much Jessica and enjoy the moment.
Jessica smiled: Thanks, so much for it.
They then saw the number 19 car of Felipe Massa enter Parc Ferme as he slotted into that number two slot and he got up of his car and jumped for joy and ran to the mechanics who all embraced him and then Jessica who came up and hugged him.
Jessica: Great drive massa. P2. First time on the podium since Monza 2015.
Massa: Yah. Great stuff. What happened to Ricciardo.
Jessica: Could not tell but from the radio it seems that we were able to overload that Renault engine for it to basically blow up.
Massa: Oh really. That happened.
Jessica: Yup. Thanks so much for being that rear gunner for us.
Massa: No problem Jessica. No problem and here he comes.
That number 29 car drove into Parc Ferme with one hand on his visor, still not believing that it still happened. He slowly got out of his car and put his steering wheel back in the car before celebrating and punching his fist in the air, showing a number 1 on his finger...similar to that of Vettel.
